Probably has something to do with not being able to access her finances yet. It's kind of bizarre imo in this country, like if you have money stashed away for hard times, you or even your family who has the burden of taking care of you can't even use the money.

This is no different in Germany and is the reason why older people, for example, write account authorizations to their descendants. But in Emily's case, that just wasn't expected.

it's not bizarre. this is the norm everywhere because of how banking laws are structured. it's also why u can have your own independent bank acct from your spouse even if u're married. anyone who calls this bizarre either doesn't have their own bank acct or doesn't know how bank accts work or both. in her case she's young so she made the mistake of not doing any estate planning in the event something like this happens. the sad thing is that it's going to cost her family time grief and money to go to court to get access to her bank acct to help care for her.

I am no financial expert by any means, but I was also on my mom's checking account if she was unable to write checks. Of course it has to be a trusted friend or relative.

The laws are set up that way for a VERY good reason. You don't want a family member stealing your money. You can easily set it up ahead of time so that another person can access your funds. But you have to set it up ahead of time by either adding another person to your account, which has its own pitfalls, or giving another person power of attorney on your account. The pitfall of adding another person is that if that other person gets sued, your account is considered part of that person's property. Thus, your money could be used to satisfy a lawsuit against the person you added to your account.

Given the current laws there are still sad examples of people who steal a relative's money. Case in point - My wife's uncle had no wife or children. So he added a niece, nephew, or his sister to each of his bank accounts, instead of drawing up a will or a trust. Much later, as his sister was starting to not be able to handle her affairs, she gave financial power of attorney to her son (the uncle's nephew). The son/nephew saw an opportunity to grab some money so he started to drain the bank account that was in the name of the uncle and his sister. Fortunately my wife had financial power of attorney for the uncle. So when she saw the money being drained, she grabbed the rest of it from that account and put it into an account owned by the uncle that was beyond the reach of the nephew.

What I'm saying is this is a pretty unusual if not extraordinary circumstances. I'm assuming it's true that these are her direct relatives trying to get her funds to help her get better care(And not people trying to "claim" they're her best friends) and the use of the money could be monitored, so it should be considered so they can get a pass. This is potentially costing her an improvement in health and therefor life if she could have gotten better treatment by financial means.

Didn't mean for anybody to get butthurt if they were ever in a similar circumstance.

^ The circumstances don't matter. Without the proper paperwork and identification, no financial institution is going to release funds to a non-authorized person. I can guarantee that any bank employee who did so would get fired immediately. I don't know banking law much, but it wouldn't surprise me if the bank could be held criminally liable for any such action. At the very least, they'd be opening themselves up to a huge lawsuit.

The only way around it is for the another person, say Emily's mother in this case, to be assigned as guardian to Emily. Her mother would have to petition the courts to be assigned guardian. Courts always scrutinize such petitions very carefully. Other states may vary, but in the state that I'm in, guardians have to keep meticulous records of how every dollar was spent. And submit such records to the court on a periodic basis.

My wife and I have run into some of this, regarding her uncle. Bottom line, if you're not authorized, they firmly and politely show you the door. And I can guarantee that if one were to insist on getting access to such funds, security would very firmly, and not-very-politely, show you the door.

The system has its reasons. Sometimes it results in redtape that while necessary, is still difficult for people who are in some state of trauma and grief. We can understand the reasons for the system and still empathize with a family who is struggling a little more because of it.

^Exactly. You would think these weirdo's are working for the bank themselves. Yeah, we know, it's the rules. That has long been established in this thread even though it was never denied in the first place.

OK we don't need to call people weirdos and such. As Jacques mentioned, "We can understand the reasons for the system and still empathize with a family who is struggling a little more because of it."

Let's leave it there.

saw many articles where one of her doctors said he thinks she has severe brain damage due to the lack of oxygen
and it created a locked in syndrome which is the saddest thing i ever heard she is fully conscious but with no way to move anything
but her eyes. he said some people learned to communicate yes or no with eye movements but her full recovery would be
years and years and extremely rare. so i will hang on to this because i know how much emily loved life and was a ray of light to the world.
if anyone can do it she can

if that was from the daily mail it wasn't her dr who said it. it was a doc daily mail asked to speculate on her condition which tbf is a bit unethical for a dr to do without examining the patient ie armchair diagnosis

I just can't accept it...it's incomprehensible...NO ONE, let alone her, "deserves" something like this.

I just have to still believe somehow her youth will pull her through back to almost normal again. The brain is a very mysterious thing. Diagnoses are guessing games.

Do the patients get checked on hourly in the rehab she was staying in? Because 4 minutes without oxygen will cause permanent brain damage.

I would just like to ask. Does anybody here still rewatch Emily's scenes, despite her current condition, or is it bad taste?

I have. In general (not talking about Emily, but overall) i never had a problem with such sad real life situations and still enjoying the artwork they made.
To me, porn as a form of entertainment is equal to any other form of entertainment so i treat it as such. If something bad happens to a musician i like, i still listen to them :)

I tend to stop watching scenes of any performer in situations like this. I guess it brings the reality of life to what we all like to watch, which is fantasy.

Kagney Lynn Carter comes to mind and was one of my all time favorites. But, I'll never watch her scenes again.

The day before the news broke, I had a nice session with some of her scenes. I was updating my playlist with her stuff too and then the next day, my wife asked me if I heard about "a porn star that killed herself?" It was an odd conversation to have.

I still watch Emily Wills scenes and showcases, just because I'm a fan and she an all time favorite of mine. I had the pleasure of meeting her at AVN. She was really cool person and the best part I asked her to follow me on twitter and did!!

personally i would ask my fav stars if she would like to follow but i would never pay for this bc make no sense , if they aprreciate you as a fan ( if you are loyal and many years) than you dont need to pay , its only a click for them in 2 secs

Opinions and tastes will vary. Your interesting question caused me to go back and watch several of Emily's scenes over the last few days. For me, it's like the line from the Counting Crows: "Don't it always seem to go, that you don't know what you got 'til it's gone?" So, let's call it bittersweet. Viewing her scenes now, much more closely than I did when she was healthy, I am struck by how amazing her scenes are. She was extremely beautiful and perfectly groomed. She was an energetic, enthusiastic and highly skilled performer. She struck a perfect balance between showing off her body and the penetrations of her holes from multiple angles and positions for the camera/viewer, while also connecting with her partner and enjoying the sex 'naturally.' She was dirty and filthy in the best way but never over the top. I am really appreciating her and her work more now than before. Given the tragedy that has befallen her, it is definitely bittersweet for me to watch her scenes today.

A couple of details to make my point. I've been watching porn for over 40 years. I don't recall a performer's pussy looking more perfect and enticing than Emily's does during reverse cowgirl anal. It's perfectly formed, perfectly pink, perfectly groomed, and just open enough to be enjoyed and admired, throughout the anal penetration. I also appreciate the effort and work that Emily puts in during her performance. In these 3 screen captures you see that Emily is actually raising and lowering the heels and arches of her feet during the RCA penetration -- that extra effort to meet and accentuate each thrust penetrating her asshole is really special and something I hadn't noticed before. This occurs from 24:20 to 25:00 in her holed.com scene "Extra Credit."

I can't say why I feel differently about watching Emily's scenes now that she's unwell. I have no problem watching scenes with deceased performers, but for some reason, this feels different. I'll probably get over it.

Julius, thanks for those screenshots. Those are nudging me closer to getting back to watching Emily's scenes.

Not to get pedantic, (as I get pedantic) but while Counting Crows did cover "Big Yellow Taxi," the music icon Joni Mitchell wrote and recorded the song in 1970. It's a fantastic song, and if Jesus himself came to earth and recorded it, I'd still see Joni's original as the gold standard.

It's so funny you mention Kagney because she was another favorite of mine. I was gutted when I heard what happened to her. To sum up Emily is my favorite of all time and Kagney is in my top 5 all time. Now, I can't watch any of their scenes. Not judging anybody who does watch Emily's scenes, but I just can't.

that's really cool of her to do what she did. it really speaks to the kind of person she is. the reason why i asked if she tried to charge u for the follow is coz dainty wilder quoted me $250 just for an ig follow.

Hell no. the minute she asked me for that amt if i wanted a follow from her i knew she doesn't deserve any loyal following. because it just showed she only sees us as suckers to be fleeced. and getting a follow from her isn't going to make my life better at all.
