I don't even wanna know what kind of trolling is going on there, but i can only imagine it's from
-people who get off on such things
-religious nutjobs
-kids who don't yet understand the consequences of their actions
-women who are jelous because they will never ever be as beautiful and successful as Emily.

I hope Emily and her family don't take these comments seriously and i hope they are focusing on this community for example who is nothing but supportive of her.

Just to elaborate: religious nutjobs who rejoice in others' suffering while pretending they're the virtuous ones

There's plenty of non-religious online users who fit that category.

Yes and... there's little I've seen like religion organized by humans to empower people with the self-righteousness, lack of critical thinking skills, and lack of self-awareness to be that cruel.

some people just get off on trolling...they do not necessarily have to be religious to do so

I can't live a single day without feeling heartbroken for Emily. Life can be so messed up. I'd give anything to hear a positive update on her condition and will continue to dream of that day

Her family just won a lawsuit against the facility caring for her , about 3 million dollars , unfortunately Emily will probably be in a vegetative state for the rest of her life .

Hopefully this means she gets the best of care and is kept comfortable. Other than a miracle, that's probably about the best one can hope for.

Thanks for the update. Her work made my life better and i think about her everyday. May her loved ones give her the best life possible.
Most porn fans are not just gooners looking to bust a nut. The well being of our favorite models is also very important to us and that's why i'm heartbroken as if she was part of my family.

If money can buy the best of medicals in the world, please get them, and get her standing, and normal. A hope.

Thank goodness that they won. Not an easy case given that Emily's condition when she got there and refusal of offered care. Sometimes patients don't know what's best for them, especially in a state like that. That money should help them care for her for many more years. Maybe they have more exploratory options as well with the additional liquid - she has to still be in there somewhere given her ability to respond at all. You just never know with these oddly induced comas, they are always the strangest medical stories. Hope

So happy that her family won the suit and hopefully this eases her mother's burdens. Just gotta pray that science advancements find a way to improve Emily's condition. I hope and pray she's not stuck in a locked in state for the rest of her life. Just absolutely horrifying.

That is some good news I guess, but as everybody says, this whole thing is just so sad, so terrible.

I hope they can use the money to try to help her achieve the miracle she needs, but honestly $3million wouldn't even pay for a month in a hospital in this country. And long term maintenance care ain't cheap either.

If I remember correctly she had a substantial estate that her family was trying to get access to to pay for all her bills but couldn't get it yet. Hope that's still rolling.

^^ This doesn't have anything to do with Emily's condition but it's just a rant.

I'm a lawyer in Canada and I do some personal injury work. My rant is that the fees collected by the lawyers here are greater than the amount that Emily and her family will receive. The story notes that there was a $3 million settlement and that Emily and her family will receive $1.26 million. That's $1.74 million in fees and disbursements. Obviously, I have no inside knowledge of this case but it seems to me that it was a relatively straightforward case from the beginning. I can't see that liability would be much of an issue here. Emily was under the care and control of healthcare professionals who were negligent in their duties. There isn't much of a defence here, especially one of contributory negligence on the part of Emily or her family. She was in crisis and that is specifically why she was at this facility. The only issue would be quantum. I can't speak to that, but $3 million does seem a bit low.

But $1.74 million in fees seems absurd to me. I get that this is the justice system in the US, but c'mon people. Demand change. Again, I have no inside knowledge of the case, but the number of hours in this case wouldn't be significant and it wouldn't take reams of expert's reports (paid as disbursements) to prove the facility's liability or quantum of damages. I'm not even sure that based on the facts publicly available that any expert reports would be needed beyond an actuarial assessment for future costs of care. (Again, $3 million seems low.)

Where I practice, the most that a law firm could take from this settlement would be $900,000 but given that this isn't terribly complex case it would likely fall closer to $750,000. An actuarial assessment might run to $20,000 and I am being very generous with that amount. Probably closer to $10,000.

$1.74 million is legal fees is robbery. Apologies for the editorializing, but Emily and her family are as much victims of this law firm and the US legal system as there are/were of the treatment facility.

Demand change!!!!

If and when she makes a full recovery, there's ONE person who was in the industry she should definitely have a long conversation with for obvious reasons - Eden Sin. She was active for about 3 years or so until she hit a bout of depression which medications made much worse and ended up jumping from the fourth floor of a building.

Even reading the sentence that she is walking, sleeping, and watching TV - I'm so relieved and continually hopeful for her. If those sources are true, which I pray for, she may yet have a shot at living mostly normally

Just from what I've seen over years, despite TMZ's reputation, they actually do tend to get the right info in situations like this. That is a pretty amazing development btw if true which hopefully it is. Wow.
