The increasing number of women flocking to porn (easy money?) only exacerbates the problem. I'm not sure that most shooters in the industry are even interested in shooting somebody a dozen times, never mind the economics. Since those new girls keeping flooding in the door, they don't have to, anyway. So, unfortunately, about your only hope is to imitate the legion of screaming fan-boyz and hope enough people join you in making noise for 'your gal' to get more work. Personally, I've given up trying. If somebody shoots one of my faves, great. If not, I've got a room full of porn to watch. I'm sure there are plenty of porn newbies to pick up the slack; the industry won't even notice I'm gone. [Link]

I wasn't. My sexuality was so different from now, and not really developed to full extend. I don't see how the barely legal girls can act like they enjoy themselves in porn, maybe there are some who are mature, but imho most of them have no clue what their own sexuality is about, so they can't be "real" in porn. While porn is all acting anyway, there is a big difference between "having sex on camera" and real sensuality and erotic, and it shows on DVD as well as in real life. Fact is, you the viewer can't tell the difference between an 18-year-old and a 28-year-old if they're both dressed and made up the same. Pornographers do this all the time. If you're new to the business, they put you in the "teen" movies no matter how old you are. "Teen" is just marketing code for "new face," for the most part. The actual fetishization of teen-hood (ala Max Hardcore or the Fast Times at Deep Crack series) is not done as often as the mere slapping of "Teen" on a boxcover, with no teen fetishization within beyond a mere "How old are you, sweetie?" in front of the scene. "Teen" vs. "Woman" vs. "MILF" vs. "Mature" is all about fantasy...perception...marketing. Guage could still get away with playing "teens", and Amy Reid can get away with playing a MILF. It's all in the costuming and context. And no one except grumpy porn hounds would notice or care. [Link]

Having any actress near or over 40 is going to be fringe. Having any actress of the downside of her career on the box cover will not move as many units as a provocative shot of a newbie.
