On the 8/3, I ordered 5 disks from erodvd - they never arrived; MY CREDIT CARD HAS BEEN DEBITED WITH A TOTAL OF 126.46 EUROS/£80.75.
I notified them of this on the 8/8 - on the 8/9 they said they would send them again - as at todays date I have never received any disks.
Now I have ordered roughly 550 DVD's from adultdvdnow, disks from Australia, Hong Kong, etc - I HAVE NEVER HAD 1 DISK GO MISSING - and I am supposed to believe that 2 orders they sent BOTH go missing; they are not the "banned" category and I did not receive any letters from Customs.
Their homepage states; "We sell our products Worldwide with a 100% guarantee of delivery" - NOT TRUE!!!!!!!!
I have mailed them every week since about the 8/8 to try and sort this out and they just keep lying to me; here is what they have been saying each week;
8/27 " When you do not get the order by Friday, we will give you your money back" - Gerti, who is the CEO
8/31 "We will send your money back and delete you out of our system which means that you can not order in the future at our internet stores again. " - BANNING ME!!!! - Gerti - CEO
8/31 - again "I can not help that you not recieve the orders. I do NOT give money back immediately but next week we will do, no problem" - Gerti - CEO
9/1 "Next week you will get an letter from our assurance company. Please fill in and after they agree we will give money back." - Gerti - CEO - NO LETTER ARRIVED!!
9/9 "We have given the creditcard permission to give money back so one of these days it must be at your account." - Aline
9/21 "We give you a refund, we allready did. Next week it MUST be at your account - Please be patient - I did promise you, so you will see. " - Gerti - CEO
The above represents some of the actual statements from their Chief Executive - lifted directly from his e-mails to me!
As at the 9/28;
- I have been charged for 5 DVD's - promised a refund credited to my acoount since 8/27 - banned by the company - sent about 30 e-mails trying to resolve the matter - not received a refund
So I now need to hand the matter over to my credit card company to resolve the problem.
The above is simply the facts - no elaboration in any way!
So in summary - take great care when ordering disks from this company - they do not live up to the promises made on their homepage or the e-mails from their CEO!!!
A few things to note here - As with your post, just facts.
I've unfortunately had quite a few discs go missing from various suppliers, both adult and mainstream and from what I can make out from discussion with other forum members and stores it's far from an uncommon problem. Especially with dvds becoming more recognisable to any light-fingered postal employees anywhere in the world.
None of the titles I have ordered that have gone missing in the international postal system were banned or even suspect. (A Bug's Life, anyone?). It's simple an ugly risk of ordering from overseas - On this basis, it's -very- possible that erodvd did both send and also reship your order, and both have been stolen within the postal system.
To stop this crap from happening to me, I've worked out ways with the retailers I regularly use to stop this from happening.
I've never had any problems personally with Erodvd, but at the same time I have not had any orders go missing, so have never had to deal with that side of their business.
I do have to say I'm quite surprised at the way it appears to have been handled. Though I have to say, that once I did have major problems with one DVD company, DVDboxoffice (which were their own fault, and admitted as such). After several weeks (6+) of jerking me around I simply sent them a final email saying that I had the credit card forms filled out in front of me, and was taking them into my bank in the morning if I did not recieve an email from them telling me my account has been credited. Businesses do not like the additional fees that banks charge them when the banks extract the refund. (BTW thats six weeks of -trying- to work out the problem, 2 MONTHS after the problem occured.. )
Like magic instead of taking a week to reply (or not to reply) to my emails I recieved notification of a refund the next morning.
If erodvd have told you they will give you a refund, simply print out all the emails dealing with the matter and attatch them to the paperwork to take to your bank. Let the bank sort it all out, thats what your credit card charges are for. I wouldn't worry about the fact that you're ordering porn, either, the bank only cares about your money, not what you're watching.
Taking it to the bank/credit card company is a last resort if the matter cannot be worked out between the customer and retailer, but it certainly does the job.
I have contacted my bank tonight and they have told me to put it in writing to them, long with any e-mails I have sent!
I have again contacted erodvd, today, telling that I was putting it into the hands of my CC company and that I would be posting info on newsgroups and on here - guess what - not even a reply!
They obviously feel that they will not be affected by this type of post - I know that on another site the post has been viewed as I type - 87 times - how many lost customers are there in those viewers?????
I'm astonished to hear a story like that. From my experience EroDVD has got exceptional customer service, and while it happened a few times that DVDs from US-retailers vanished on their way to me, no package from EroDVD was lost until now.
Aline has always been friendly and helpful.
On the other hand I really think it's strange to guarantee delivery and then say that they can't do anything about you not receiving the orders. Banning you from their system is also not something I would expect from this company.

If they actually sent you 10 DVDs (2 x 5) at a total loss to them (if they eventually refund you for the price of 5), they might think you were conning them, I'm not suggesting you did that but put yourself in their place (hence the ban).
It would be good to hear Erodvd.nl's side of the story.
Understand your point and I also see it from their point of view!
I had ordered about 6 times from them before - never a problem.
As stated above - I have had about 55 orders (over 500 disks) from adultdvdnow, never once have any orders been lost.
If they thought I was conning them, why did they not send the second batch recorded or registered?
I honestly do not believe that they sent them the second time!
Any company where the CEO lies to you in e-mails, must be extremely suspect in my opinion - if the CEO lies what chance has the staff or we as customers actually got?
I have NEVER had ANY mail go missing before or since (since had about 4 orders from adultdvdnow delivered.
Their prices are good, their customer service WAS good, I would not have risked conning them for 5 disks and losing their service - not with the amount of disks I regularly order!!
I know you were not saying it, but I did not receive any of the 2 batches they sent and I did not try to con them in any way.
Yet again, still no reply from them, after my e-mail to them last night - pathetic!!
I have contact the creditcard company why this takes so much time to give money back. They could not give me an exacly reason for that, but promissed me to do so. I will scan then form so you can see that we did give permission to the creditcard company. Sorry that this takes so much time but you can see, we did not forget you. We do allways everything to solve such problems.
Kind regards,
Gerti Bakhuis CEO Erovideo
As this is the 7th time I have been promised a refund, I am not holding my breath and will still be going through my credit card company - they cannot ban me twice!!
Particularly since a little over three weeks ago I ordered 3 DVD's from Eurodvd in Holland, and haven't received them yet.
I was only just starting to get a little concerned about that, given that it's and overseas delivery. And given as well that overseas mail into NYC may still be somewhat backed up.
I check my Amex online though, and they haven't charged it yet. So maybe it's backordered. But they didn't send me any email to that effect. They did send an email, perhaps automatically generated, that they had received the order soon after I placed it.
I've sent them an email of inquiry.
I'll keep you all posted on what the outcome is, since they are now under some suspicion around here.
Too bad -- they have a large stock of otherwise hard to obtain (in the US) Euro DVD's.
Along those lines, can anyone recommend a good alternate Euro DVD purchasing site which ships outside of Europe, and which has an English version of their site? Well maybe I could navigate French.
I`ve used them a few times for both main stream and adult, They offer plenty of euro made dvds and a few US made dvds. They a quite well priced and there shipping is very fast and cheap :) They also had the rocco film which got banned (the 1 where they shot part of it in that french hotel!) I know coz i bought it :) Hope this helps
Steady, it's only Rocco Meats An American Angel in Paris, French version, here withdrawn because the hotel identified in the movie didn't want to be identified!
I have looked at this site and was interested to see these French DVDs of Rocco movies though. What's the quality like on them? Do they compare to Evil Angel?

Don't know aboput Europe to US but an order from US to Europe at the cheapest air mail rate typically take about three to six weeks. They sometimes take less but 6 weeks is not uncommon, so don't fret (especially with the recent events : mail backlogs and stricter security checks).
Actually, I just heard back from them yestereday. I emailed them the day before that.
They told me they hadn't mailed (or charged my card) yet because I gave them Amex rather than Visa or Mastercard.
Well that would be OK if the form they have you fill in for credit card said they didn't take Amex. But it doesn't. In fact it doesn't have any pull down box to choose the card at all. You just free form fill in the number and expiration dates. Pretty weird I thought at the time.
Can't say as I'm too impressed with them taking three weeks to bother to tell me this. And then only after I emailed THEM about the order.
Think I'll look around before replacing the order ...
Here are the two papers so you can see we did give permission to give money back. It`s better for you never use internet again for ordering something. I do not know how we had to solve it on a better way. Last month,September, we have send 8 packages to Scotland, ALL recieved.
Kind regards,

P.s.Thanks for writing at Adultdvdtalk.com and do not forget to post this massage too.
Now here are the REALLY interesting points;
Promised a refund on;
8/27 8/31 1/9 9/9 "We have given the creditcard permission to give money back so one of these days it must be at your account." - Aline 9/21 "We give you a refund, we allready did."
The refund authorisation was dated 9/28!!!!
Here is the best part;
Have a look at the date I posted details on here!!!!!
(If you didn't pick it up - look at the dates promised, the date I posted here and the date the reund was authorised!!)
So,just take extreme care with your orders people!
I've been ordering a lot from EroDVD and quite frequently, and have always been content with their service, but if I would ever receive a mail like this one, I'd stop placing orders there immediately.
I don't know the whole truth, though, since I haven't heard their point of view from themselves, and they were always very friendly to me, it's no reason for me to stop placing orders there, YET.
If, after failing to deliver a package, a retailer would tell me to stop buying over the internet, I'd certainly write them a mail telling them about my attitude concerning talking to customers.
