I recently ordered a DVD from EroDvd, which was promptly dispatched, however was unfortunately seized by UK customs. I received a nice letter in the post telling me that the items had been confiscated and would be destroyed if the forfeiture was not challenged which I have no intention of doing. Has anyone had similar experience of EroDVD packages being seized, and what have they done about it? Do I cut my losses or can EroDVD help?
Its the first time it has happened and I was a bit concerned that as a consequence my card may be marked and future items sent to my address subject to the same sort of scrutiny. The letters the discs are sent in are quite thin and one only has to have a feel of them to realise that they contain discs. Have you had no problems since, also should I contact by e-mail first and then send the notice through the post? Thanks for any info you can provide.
It was an s&m title, has anyone any experience of seizures? Should I contact customs or just forget about it? Where do I stand? Any help gratefully received.
Blondie, I have had several orders in the dim days when everything of an adult nature was seized. It's not too bad now apart from the fetish titles of which S&M will probably fall in.
Personally I wouldn't bother challenging C&E and just accept the loss. I'm sure Aline will help you out as she has for myself and other board members.
It's just one of those things so don't worry about it. In your mail to Aline you may want to ask for a review of any shipping methods.
Thanks for all the info, I have contacted EroDVD and Aline has been extremely helpful and responsive throughout. I suppose its just a shame that mail from Holland will always attract the suspicions of our esteemed British customs, whose priorities appear to be seizing porn rather than securing our borders in these dangerous times.
