All three DVD orders were HOT as far as UK Customs were concerned (Watersports in all three). With Erodvd.nl shipping methods for those (no case at my request, thick envellope with printed address).

In my experience you can't go wrong with them, great prices, great service, I'll order more from them in future, even more traditional porn like Private.

Anyone knows if they ship "regular" porn DVDs (i.e. no fisting or pissing) with their boxes?

The good news, of the standard DVDs I had, many were intercepted by HM (GGG and Private), these were all sent on with no problem, just a note inside saying they had been examined.

I hear delivery methods have changed, and you can of course ask for the DVD's to be sent how you want.

I have dealt with MANY companies worldwide and most will never get my business again.

Erodvd.nl have always been the most helpful.

I sincerely believe they LOSE a lot of money from having to replace LOST orders.

The most effective method of buying from them is to order a few dvds and request U.P.S shipping.
This will ensure your order is delivered.

If Erodvd.nl is reading this, I would strongly recommend using larger (A4 / A5) size envelopes (similar to 'adultdvdnow.com') to minimize LOST orders.

Their use of small envelopes and NO cardboard insert probably costs them lots of money in replacing lost orders.

Erodvd.nl also sell hard to find discs at very good prices.
(the SAME dvd's at ORGAZMIK are MUCH more expensive).

If ORGAZMIK reduced their prices I would definitely use them more often.

Cutting to the chase - I still think that in discussing HM Customs versus The Enlightened, what would be really useful would be to know:-

1)Content - what got seized. Were they Playboy disks, Jenna Jameson getting frisky, donkey fisting? More importantly what *has* got through in spite of being opened by the forces of oppression?
2)Numbers - how many disks were in the shipment? Had you bought £400 of disks in one sitting and were they being shipped over in a crate or what?
3)Packaging - Disks alone in an envelope, disks and boxes in a shipping packet, or a wooden crate clearly stamped PORN?

As ever, I like to express my support for Aline and the gang at EroDVD.nl, with whom I have never had a grouse.

What do you mean by "very recognisable" packaging? They now ship in a plain white envellope with your adress printed (some people had complained written adresses in the past were the reason their packages were seized). IMVHO you do not risk anything if you order "straight" material, and you risk very very little if you order "questionable material". I think the number of "seizures" that got publicized because of the large number of people ordering and because the very few that got burnt were very vocal. If really you are too scared, try getting DVDs from Orgazmik, they are very fast and effective, their letters pass through customs like a breeze, the drawback is that they are awfully expensive, but if it's the price to pay for your peace of mind...

Just a short note to let you know I received my order from erodvd.nl. Finalised the order this Tuesday and received it by Saturday morning mail, three DVDs neatly packed with the covers (but not the boxes) in a white Jiffy Bag, printed address. Those were "regular" porn DVDs (Private Life of Sylvia Saint -2DVDs- and a Magma Teeny DVD). I don't mind about them not sending the boxes because I store my dics in a special CD wallet for discretion and to save valuable storage space!

OK so this is my fourth order with them and yet again everything went smoothly plus the order was very fast and the prices very low. To be fair I never had any customs problems either ordering from Lasersedge, Orgazmik or DVDZone2. Erodvd.nl is now my prefered store because of their inventory, low prices and highly responsive customer service.

Either this customs issue is being blown out of proportion or I am VERY VERY VERY lucky

It was an order of DBM titles which contained fisting so I had the disks and covers sent separately. DBM use these silly plastic/cardboard cases which I didn't know at the time and it was these in a Jiffy bag that were inspected by Customs at Dover Postal Depot.

They were just the empty boxes but the graphics showed clearly the disk's contents so I was surprised they were sent on.

The actual disk's themselves arrived safely a few days later.

This was the first and only time I had an inspection by Dover Postal Depot, and at the time I thought it was strange and wondered if was because the order was sent overland instead of by air. Dover being a port and all (unless they fly there as well).

All my other orders from the US went through Mount Pleasant and I have had many orders inspected and passed through without problem post the so called "changes".

I have only ever lost 2 "regular" orders to Customs and these were about 2 years ago. A time when nothing was allowed through.

Talking specifically about erovideo.nl they have listened to comments posted here about their inadequate packaging and have gone to great lengths to address the problem and still charge not a penny for the service.

Anything with a Dutch postmark will attract extra scrutiny from the Authorities for the obvious reasons. It's just you tend to hear about the ones that get caught not about the hundreds that don't.

I've had good success through erodvd but today I received my 2nd confiscation letter from HM Customs. they confiscated the 2 dvd's I bought.

Anyone any idea if what system the customs use to determine if a "visit" is required. I'm almost to the point of stopping buying adult dvd's in case I get a visit from HM Customs. I don't want them knocking at my door !

Any thoughts ?

Now me, I'm into yer arty, coffee-table stuff like Andrew Blake or Antonio Adamo so unless they freak out at a little gentle fetishism, I reckon my stuff shouldn't raise an eyebrow - but I can't be sure and that was what was bothering me.

Time was, you couldn't import any porn into the UK until the Human Rights Act came in. Then they said we could if it didn't overstep the R18 bounds. Now they've upped the ante by talking about arresting people and getting visits from HMC&E. That is worrying, and that is why I started this thread in the hope we, as connoisseurs of adult entertainment (ahem) could build up some guidelines or intelligence to make our lives easier. So please, if anybody has stories about Customs problems, could we establish content, number of titles involved and what HMC&E gave as grounds for seizure or their friendly little visit?

When I order "hot" DVDs from erodvd.nl I ask them not to send the boxes, but apparently due to some problems with UK customs they stopped sending boxes altogether some time ago (strangely in the earlydays I got a UROMANIA pissing DVD =with box= without any problem, it's when I heard that other talkers had had their stuff confiscated that I specifically ask for no box).

One of my last orders was not "hot" as far as customs are concerned, some plain old Private and Magma DVDs and they were sent without their boxes.

All in all I have ordered 15 DVDs from erodvd.nl, 6 were regular porn (Private and Magma) that wouldn't have been confiscated by customs if the packages had been noticed and opened (they were not). The 9 others DVDs would have been confiscated by customs if the packages had been noticed and opened (they weren't either) as one had pissing and fisting and 8 pissing/watersports only.

Based on my experience I think we UK talkers are pretty safe ordering "forbidden stuff" from erodvd.nl (and Orgazmik for that matter, but they are a bit on the expensive side) given the shipping method used (no boxes, plain white envellopes).

I have recently noticed erodvd.nl are stocking a new Max Hardcore range of dvd's that feature fisting and pissing. Max Hardcore's antics can turn peoples stomachs so they may not be to your taste.

I got a package of Private discs today, packaged in the usual way from Erodvd, that HAD been opened but was sent on without problem. (stamped at Dover)

My problem is that the Customs chappie had not wrapped one of the discs up again inside the clingfilm Ero use, and it was clearly scratched.

So I would perhaps urge caution anyway, on ordering really naughty stuff. At least be prepared for an occasional seizure...by Customs I mean!

This was the first package I have ever had opened by Customs, in quite a number so it's not bad going really.

Orgazmik's stuff comes through the letter post, as far as I can tell, and has never been opened in my experience. The drawback is that in Switzerland fisting is OK, as is yodelling and fondue, but pissing is verboten! So no peeing vids from Orgazmik.

But my point was that essentially the discreet shipping doesn't really matter because unless they can pick out those EroDVD or Orgazmik packets from the 1000s of items that will be brought into the UK daily, it's really down to chance anyway. It's not as if they are marked differently from all those other packets/envelopes.

If you're unlucky enough to have something checked, it's likely it will be sent on OK as long as the contents are compliant. All you need worry about is the duty for non-EU purchases.
