As far as the porn industry goes, the actors are being paid to portray sexual acts for the film, rather than one partner paying the other for sexual pleasure. The fact that the intent of the payment is different is why it's OK.

Point is, it costs an average of $30,000 USD per year to incarcerate someone in the federal prison system. More than half of those are in for nonviolent, consensual crimes, mostly drug offenses, granted, but still...supply and demand. It's human nature; given a choice, how many of us don't like to eat good food, catch a buzz, fuck, and sleep it off without worrying about Johnny Law busting in and saying "You can't smoke THAT!" "You can't put it in THAT hole!". Mind your own business!! Fucking moral high grounders can't stand that everyone doesn't want to live a life of denying themselves basic human pleasures just because it doesn't fit into their view of right and wrong.

There's so much hypocrisy in the world, it's really depressing me lately.

Can you imagine how much money and lives we'd save in the U.S. if we would just adopt a more modern and realistic attitude towards adult behavior, like say Amsterdam? It's not perfect, I know, but once you take the 'forbidden' taboo off of things, you don't have kids just dying to try it like I was -- oh, I'm not supposed to have that? Where can I get some?
