This essay dates from 2008. Peter Tatchell is a left-wing gay rights activist who is moderately pro-pornography. Have a read of the essay for yourself:

One part I found particularly interesting was this...
Now to what extent is that actually true? Is he, as a gay man, just biased against straight pornography or is it really true that very few women are involved in pornography because they enjoy it?
It's worth bearing in mind that this essay is six years old, which is not that long ago but still a considerable while.

Do you think the Industry has changed that much?

If we substituted 'work' for 'porn' and 'porno shoots', and substituted 'people' for 'women', would the above not be just as true?
Edited to add that where I think porn differs is that the longer a performer works in the field the less valuable that performer is likely to be considered by producers, because much of the target audience places a premium on newness.

^I completely agree with you and I will only add that for a performer to last so long that she gets de-valued by porn producers means that she had to be a really amazing performer to begin with. Otherwise she never would have made it very far past the newness phase. Most performers today rarely make it past the newness phase and it can't all be blamed on the overall working conditions in the porn industry.
