The only thing new I want to say about it is that Patrick Collins did everything wrong while John Stagliano did everything right, that's why there's a big difference in quality between these two companies. I mean Elegant Angel went downhill pretty fast after they lost Tom Byron, Van Damage, Rob Black and Tiffany Mynx. [Link]

I think you'll find all future DVD's we release updating our catalogue will include the elements you mention (I know there are plans afoot for this at the beginning of next year). It's important to me, at this stage in what we're trying to accomplish at the company, that we don't do anything half-assed... it undermines everything we are trying to communicate to you, our customers, about the strides we are making. One thing I would say is that I don't apologize for the initial emphasis being put on our New Releases. This is the foundation of any company, and for too long we neglected customers by putting out mediocre product. I'm proud of what we're doing now. I think you'd be hard pressed to find many companies outside of the very best with a schedule of releases as solid as ours: Squirtwoman & Squirtwoman 2, Big Wet Asses 3 & 4, Buttwoman Iz Lauren Phoenix, Semen Demons, Tight Wet Panties, Tails from the Toilet, Assquake, Cum Drenched Tits, not to mention Zupko's latest gonzo opus, Big Black Wet Asses... Our DVD's have improved out of all proportion and its required a lot of hard work. I have to give a shout out to Dimension, our authorers, for all of the time, effort and patience they've shown working with us... attempting to come up with a standard, across the board package that doesn't just compete with what's currently out there... but, in actual fact, exceeds it. However, the reality is that we still have a long way to go, and nobody at the company is kidding ourselves. A lot of damage has been done to our reputation over the years, and we won't transform those negative preconceptions about our product unless we are committed to producing movies of the very highest standard. The feedback, thus far, has been great... from the quality of our productions, to the new look to our box covers (a little more colorful, and stylized than most, reflecting the type of content you can expect from Elegant), and the improvements in our DVD's. All I can tell you is that if there's anything you think we should be doing, then please...we want to know! We want to get back to the basics of putting out kick ass movies consistently, and that can only be accomplished with your feedback and constructive criticism... Evil Angel are the very best studio in porn, bar none, in my opinion. But, Elegant Angel, in addition to its golden eras (which have been fairly frequent over the years)... has been an integral part of this industry since its inception. If you look at every successful company, and the most successful people, you will see most of them have some history with EA, and, in my opinion, that can't be merely coincidental. Ramsey, I was talking to Thomas Zupko about the fact that you used to be a huge fan of his, and I think I'm going to make it my personal mission to win you over to the stuff we're starting to put out. I mean I loved his movies at Extreme because he was always pushing the limit, his movies at Extreme were the best movies at that time on the market. Zupko directed movies with a vision, I mean he didn't care whether he offended anyone or not. He just did it with fantastic results. I know Elegant Angel is doing everything they can to get back on top of the game but Patrick Collins in my opinion has no idea how to run a business when it comes to fans and what they want to see. I mean how many times has he ignored our questions whether The Fist will be on DVD or not, uncut of course. I mean why has this movie not been released while almost all Elegant Angel titles have been released on DVD, at least give us fans an answer so we know what's going on. Also, Tales from a Toilet. How can you shoot a movie with toilet in the title and no pissing? In my opinion that's very misleading for us pissing fans, I mean we get our hopes up for nothing. I personally think Elegant Angel made a big mistake when they tried to replace directors like Rob Black, Van Damage and Tom Byron with sub par directors like Dale Jordan, Dion Giarusso and David Luger. I mean giving the fantastic Filthy First Timers serie from Van Damgage to David Luger was an insult! The only way Elegant Angel can win me back is if they start a foot-fetish serie, would be like Patrick Collins going back to basic and please no more Randy Spears, he belongs in feature movies not in gonzo movies. I only started to pay attention again when Mason's name kept popping up as something different and twisted, and "Big Bottom Sadie" came out -- and was reissued in a nice new edition. And then I kind of ignored Elegant again. Part of the problem, still, at retail in New York is you cannot FIND the titles. Well, I noticed that has improved. And I'll say, too, that watching Semen Demons last night, the quality of the DVDs, from the title pages to the bonus/extras to the music and the extra effort put into making the presentation a little different, a little fuckin' weird , is terrific. I'm not entirely sold on William H. as auteur , but he damn sure is invested in his "process," and he believes in "value-added" DVD packages, and if the rest of Elegant's "new wave" is like this, then count me as a fan. I do believe Patrick has some plans for a foot fetish line, so "winning you back" maybe a possibility, :). In regards to Tails from the Toilet, I feel that you need to have some appreciation of the political climate in this country. The concept for the movie came out of the moratorium, and was intended to use glory holes and condoms to create a movie as hardcore as possible under the circumstances. I'm sure people familiar with glory holes and their inception would understand the reasoning behind the title. We have discussed the possibility of putting together a european edit for this movie, as lots of occurences, which I think was mentioned in a previous thread, were shot that weren't able to make the final edit. Some of the things you mention are part of the DVD. The movie itself is a very dark, and furious journey into beautiful, sexual imagery and depraved and perverted fucking. It's very edgy, it's by no means tame, and, for me at least, the Cytherea, Venus girl/girl, blow bang, then anal scene was fucking spectacular. The Katie Gold scene also rocks, climaxing with Jake Malone licking his own cum from Katie's semen covered face. Not to mention, the orgy finale, with Nicki Hunter, Liza Harper, and Gia Jordan besieged by anonymous cock. All I'd ask is that Elegant Angel is judged on what it produces today, good or bad, and not on its past. [Link]

We put a lot of time and effort into the design of the menu pages, transitions, and shooting lots of cool extras...and we're pretty happy with how it turned out. Be sure to check out Big Wet Asses 4, which is has a whole host of extras: BTS, Exclusive Bonus Scene that was originally shot for the movie, An interview with Pandora, Bonus Ass Smothering, Photo Gallery, plus a kick ass easter egg. Tails from the Toilet features a 50 minute making of Documentary. Squirtwoman 2, had our innovative Squirtshot recap (5 minutes of unrelenting cum gusing), and Thomas Zupko's Assquake is another DVD which features an incredible array of extras... Both out of the film's context, but somehow they add back to the main stuff. Though my main criticism of William H. is that the eccentricities outweigh everything else, but they sure set his movies apart, and all blowbangs being equal (aren't they?), that's probably a good thing. Elegant Angel looks like a company that is willing to listen and committed to putting out a high standard of material. All I can say is thumbs up to Elegant Angel for a great package, and well done to Zupko who is definitely a talent to watch in the future. However, I don't think that older movies should be rushed out. I know it generates a certain amount of capitol from fans to older movies, but that ends up being self limiting. I wish that you as a company waited until you had some breathing space to put it out right. I won't buy a movie twice, so it is a problem. As I am a fan of Tiffany Mynx (pre-implant) and Vanessa Chase, so the Sodo-Mania series is of interest. To be blunt, the covers of Sodo-mania 9 and 10 look like they came from an old inkjet printer. A quality bootlegger would have done a better job. So from my perspective, it looks like Elegant Angel is on the decline, since I am more familiar with older offerings than new. That might not be the case, but it is the impression I am left with. [Link]
