(I'm partly posting this in the hope that someone involved in the site may see this and respond...) I've been a member of Evilangel.com for over a year, and in general the content is fantastic, and good value for money. What is increasingly bugging me though is the poor video quality of many supposedly HD scenes. As an example, yesterday I downloaded scene 2 from Rocco's Anal Slaves 2, at 1080p. The video is so (visually) noisy that it totally distracts from the scene. The whole point of HD video is to be closer to reality and this just isn't. A good DVD is way better than this. I'm not sure if the issue is the camera used, the light level (my guess?) or a post-processing issue, but whatever it is it really needs sorting! I haven't bought any Evil Angel movies online but know that John Stagliano runs a top-shelf company and doesn't attempt to rip off their customers. I would try to find a contact link on their site and let them know of the problem. Tricia used to post here but I haven't seen a post from her for months now so a PM here on the forum may not be read right away if ever. One issue I can think of is that if you are attempting to download using DSL Lite (1.5 or 3 Mbps) the download program may be substituting a lower-resolution version so it will download in a reasonable amount of time. Some companies have dashboards where you can override this setting but if this is the case and you do a movie may take 4-5 hours to download at 1080p. Usually I stream Kink scenes (I know, not EA but as I said I haven't streamed or downloaded from EA) on a 19 inch monitor at medium resolution and the picture quality is fine, low resolution is fuzzy. I haven't tried high resolution as I feel it is overkill for what I am doing.
js, The scene you are talking about belongs to rocco siffredi so the video must be shoot at europe and sent to EA headquarters so i suspect thats where the problem starts. What about other directors videos ? For example Jay Sin's recently shooted videos have always very good quality but on another note considering jonni darkko stuff i think we are sharing the same quality issues. Hope it wasn't sounding like I was suggesting that, I'm very much a fan. I've bought more Evil Angel DVDs than from any other company, and their website is the only one I currently have membership of, and would still reccommend it.Whilst the content of the website is great, other aspects aren't brilliant, lacking any sort of discussion forum or even the ability to rate or leave comments on scenes (despite apparently allowing this - perhaps this is just disabled in the UK where I am?). The only contact available seems very much aimed at the 'I can't download' or 'I can't get an mp4 to play' type of 'technical' help rather than contect feedback, although I will give it a try.Interesting suggestion but that isn't the issue. The downloaded files are defintitely 1080p. Out of curiosity I downloaded the 480p version and it shows the same image noise issue so I think it's a more fundamental problem. You're right, and from memory the other scenes where I've noticed similar problems are probably all Rocco scenes. I'll post back if I come across any others. The issue is actually apparent in the trailer on Rocco's website, so I think it must be an issue at the time of filming: http://www.roccosiffredi.com/en/Roccos-Anal-Slaves-02/dvd/9148 The clips from the scene I mentioned are noticably lower quality than other bits of the trailer (see e.g. 0:52 to 0:56). That would be me. I'm the General Manager of Evil Angel which means my job includes finding out why this is happening and getting it fixed. Our experience is that our members are usually very happy with the video quality specifically and the site overall. As someone mentioned, there may be an issue with a PAL (European - 25 frames per second) format file being encoded and then broadcast online for viewing at the American standard (NTSC 29.97 frames per second), however it's not likely. The people at FameDollars who operate the site receive files from all over the world. Note that these days, there's also the variable of video codecs (Apple Pro-res 422, HDV, etc.) all of which are dealt with during the encoding process. I don't know the answer but I will be able to get one first thing Monday morning. Hopefully, that will include a satisfactory resolution. ("resolution" - get it? Double entendre! Yes, I'm a geek.) Anyway, I'm going to do some research and get back to everyone on this. Thanks Kevin Moore for the heads up. Also, I agree that our site needs some better user interactivity for ratings and feedback, etc. We're working on that. Meanwhile, you gotta admit, the content is stellar. Right now our members have an exclusive look at Mike Adriano's "Spit & the Speculum 2" (Stagliano gets credit for the title. He was inspired by Edgar Allan Poe. True story.) Thanks. P.S. It's great to have you posting directly on the forum for the fans. I do agree that Evil Angel's content is great. I'm exclusively interested in watching B/G anal sex and no other studio gives me that much satisfaction as EA. I'm a great fan! My advice to remain on top: need more beautiful girls & talents coming, more & more anal contents, keep the creativity going, continue with the innovative filming. Cheers, LW

I've had a quick look for other scenes where the image noise I've mentioned is prominent and I've found three others, interestingly all filmed in the same room: Psycho Teens, scene 4 Xtreme Gapes 2, scene 1 Top Anal Model, scene 2 Also it does seem to be only with Rocco's material. I wonder if there is something about the lighting in that room that highlights image noise? It is there in other scenes but much less obviously. In something like say Power Slave 2 Scene 3 (an amazing scene!) it's noticeable at times.That would be great! I'm sure a major part of your time is spent worrying about piracy of your content. I think that anything you can do to increase interactivity on your site would give something extra to those who choose to pay for material, and, perhaps naively, may encourage more to do so.Oh I do, keep up the good work!I spotted the trailer for that on your video site about a week ago actually. As a longtime member my only gripes with the site are that a number of older titles are still missing and many old releases are uploaded in low grade quality. If they could fix that up it would be near perfect, imo. The newer stuff is all top notch and the DVD's go up right near release, so no complaints there, that's fantastic. Just some older scenes/movies have some issues. A while back they were re-uploading some older titles in higher quality, but that seemed to stop cold turkey. I've honestly been waiting on a few titles for years now, lol. I doubt they ever go up or get re-uploaded in a higher quality. But yeah, with that said the site is pretty great overall. I'd send in requests for some of those older titles, but I've never been able to find any place to send anything. It's possible I could be blind though. Actually this thread reminded me that it's time to re-up my sub for the new year.

I could capture it in a screen grab but I'm not quite sure where I'd stand with this site's image policy, and what EA would be happy with, so for now I won't. I believe it is the right term though.
That's true. I also know from a friend that there are a few films where they are actually in higher quality on Videobox than on Evilangel.com which is a bit annoying. But I do understand that with such a massive back catalogue this would be a lot of work.

Regarding the quality issue of some Rocco titles, this is due to the camera used to shoot the scenes. Rocco's team stopped using it after they realized the quality issue. On our side, I've asked our multimedia department to try cleaning the files with noise. We have a software that can remove most of the noise. The result will not be as clean and crisp as good HD content but it will be much better. The titles mentionned by js3142 will be cleaned asap. Well, you nailed it with some accuracy. The issue occurs specifically on the Rocco titles listed above. Our website people got back to us and explained that Rocco had been trying out new cameras that had been recommended and the results were good until such time as the footage was encoded for HD web broadcast. They've been able to do some clean up work on it and are in the process of reencoding all the scenes in question. Meanwhile, Rocco has moved on to other cameras that are not subject to this problem. As for the issue of legacy titles getting on the site, we have been working on this steadily from the time we launched EvilAngel.com as a membership site. Some of our directors were slow to migrate to HD and even then, some didn't keep the files once the footage was encoded for DVD which means the HD footage was edited or converted to standard def. We're talking about movies from 2008 and earlier. The team is doing everything possible to acquire the better files and get them on the site. We have well over 1,000 movies in the library and the lion's share are live on EvilAngel.com. I'm happy to take requests if you identify a title that isn't there yet and would like to see it prioritized. Meanwhile, we continue to do our best to get every new release on the site simultaneously with the DVD and VOD release and in a few cases each month, as an advance premiere exclusive to EvilAngel.com members.
