Expired Link or External Linking Error. That message keeps coming up when I clink on a link from this site for advertised vids that are on top of every forum page. Never happened before. But it is now.

With the link testing that occurs 'link deactivated:404 - Page not found',
would it be possible to not include ADT links in this, so ADT links are not deactivated?

Sure, that's a good idea.

^^ I thought this issue would only happen with old links.

What can happen now is I'll post an ADT link and in the preview it looks fine, but then when the post is live (or previewed again) it appears as
"[link inactive:404 - Page not found]"

Probably not the right thread here:

Since the last days I have problems with the URL, they do not show up like before (so that you just click on it to get to the site you refer to)

Test:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_United_States_(1776-1789)

Is that a general problem ?

Edits by Drew:
I changed the URL above and removed the "_(1776-1789)" part.

I'll need to look at the code that processes URLs. Seems there's something in this URL that is being ignored. I assume it's the parentheses.
