I like to put the extra footage in the DVD scenes rather than at the end. I've been doing this since "BCP1", although I didn't start advertising it on the box until my latest release "pretty Pussy". There will be a logo on every DVD box from now on that says "Directors Cut 30 Minutes Bonus Footage". WUDYATINK!!#!~!$! J.D.

Bonus footage is fine by me, and I'm happy to have it in the scene. Thanks for asking.

I also would prefer to see the bonus footage placed back within the context of the scene.

Yo.

I really love it when the extras are IN the scenes. The bloopers and especially the pauses between the takes and in various transitions between positions or locations can be REALLY erotic. I kinda like to see all aspects of shooting a porn scene, AND the finished result.
I just love it when you guys are goofing around and debating the problems involved in a particular position, or when someone needs to go potty or have a drink, etc.

To be really serious about things, one could discuss this as a dichotomy between pornucopia and the real world - fiction vs reality. In the fiction porn creates, all the girls do anal and DP and A2M's without blinking, and all dicks are constantly hard, and the guys can all keep pumping for 45 minutes straight. In the real world, on the set, there is a completely different reality. I like to see more of the latter, because what turns me on is to imagine that I am that guy who gets to fuck all those girls in a porn shoot - not in the imaginary world, but in reality.

Do I make sense? I think the realistic behind-the-scene extras are the best part of a DVD - more exciting than the edited, finished fantasy!

By the way - love your work, John!

I say director's cut all the way. If it means 5 minutes of piledriver instead of 2 or letting the camera roll post cum for a bit, I'm all for it.

Great, Mr. Dough!

I would much rather have the DVD format used for Directors' cuts, with extra footage included in the scenes themselves, than have a lot of extraneous extras that serve mostly, IMO, to provide consumers with the illusion of added value.

The play's the thing!

I agree with the others. If the only reason for cutting footage out of a scene was to get the movie down to an appropriate running time for VHS, then, by all means, keeping the footage in the proper context on the DVD is the way to go.

On the other hand, if the footage was removed from a scene on VHS because there was something wrong with it, then if you want to include that on the DVD, it belongs in the "Extras" section.

The bonus footage should be put in every scene if possible. VHS movies are edited to 2 hr 20 min becuase it's the most you can put on SP mode without the quality suffering. Now that dvd is around the scenes should be as long as possible, I don't find the bonus footage of extra sex all that special unless it contains something out of the ordinary or unusual. It's usually just unused footage thrown together without much thought or continuity.

Well I use to think that Directors cuts were cool, but on directors cuts where the scenes are extended, I often find them too long. Sometimes it feels like they go on for bloddy ages. However, if its an extra scene then by all means I like it back in the original movie.
