Did somebody check to make sure Jessica Darlin' escaped from these creeps before the feds swooped in with their porn-sniffing dogs and white gloves?

It would be shitty, though, if all it is is some trumped-up obscenity beef that the feds file in a rural shithole venue, hoping to get a jury panel composed of toothless, Bible-thumping trailer trash. That kind of thing could just as easily happen to any of the better, more reputable, companies.

Yeah, but didn't she go back recently to "the rebirth of Extreme" about a month ago, after leaving a long time ago?

Ooops, answered my own question here.

Doh.

She went back for a week they wanted her to do some really stupid stuff with gross off the street guys so she walked it was just stupid. And as far as the case goes with extreme I think their problem is record keeping and taxes so I don't think religion has anything to do with it.

Once again, Jewel, I agree with you about the whole what goes around comes around thing.

But in this case, I'm hoping that no precedents are set with the government doing even more raids of companies.

I guess I was kind of hoping some of the questionable companies would go down on something non-porn related, like taxes.

Lets see why Extreme's offices were raided before we start attacking Ashcroft and the Bush administration. I'm sure there are lots of other federal offenses that could have been commited by Extreme Associates. If you haven't heard from all the people that left that company, Extreme isn't actually ran in a professional manner. The fact that they have been giving the talent checks that bounce is a clue that the company might not be running like a well oiled machine. I am actually thrilled that Extreme is going under. Jessica Darlin is now going to be shooting for good studios and directors and now maybe Tom Byron can direct for a decent studio that makes adequate DVDs.

In response to Jewel's comment, I wonder why she would say "off the street guys" are gross? The guys in porn were all once "off the street" guys before they got their shot and lets face it, a fair number of them are pretty slimy characters. As for me, I LOVE to see a new guy, especially if he's REALLY ROUGH and NASTY, using some hot porn babes holes. In fact, one of the things I HATE is to see the same anemic male talent recycled again and again with the same girls to the point where one scene resembles the next, ad infimitum. While the girls, of course, have the right to work with whoever they choose, Im sure any guy who is a true hardcore, rough and nasty, depraved perve who really doesnt give a shit what the girl likes or thinks, is going to get a bad rep, even if he is capable of producing scenes better then 95% of the garbage thats out there.

NYC, if Extreme was trying to make Jessica work with people that she doesn't want to work with, that would just make bad porn. I have no problem with what Jewel said. Not to mention that these women put there lives on the line every time they do a scene. They should at least have the comfort in knowing that the persone they are doing a scene with is a professional and has been properly tested. Pontus, That scenario would be ideal! I hope it happens. I don't think Byron directing for RLD would be a bad thing either. Neither of us can complain right now anyway. Jessica is back, platinum X is out, Evil Angel and RLD are as strong as ever, things are just good.

If this goes to court, Alan Isaacman will be wishing that he had a calm, sane, well behaved client like he did when he was representing Larry Flynt.

And as for Rob reading my release I don't care he hurt a lot of people and what did he think it wasn't going to catch up with him and his company. When I worked there and Michael our checks bounced more then once before they were good and they seemed to not of cared if you ever got a good check and that isn't cool especially after you give them a great scene. Rob shoved to much down the governments throat and now he will choke on it so be it!!! And as for the comment guys off the street I'm talking low life punks who aren't tested and are dirt bags sorry but I wouldn't of done anyone like that for any amount of money so good for Jessica she walked!!! I always give new people a chance why do you think I'm doing Pornstar Idol it's to give people a shot at being a star (DUH!!!)

Bill, I still can't get that image out of my mind of Larry Flynt, sitting in his wheelchair, wearing a diaper made out of the American flag, and being hurriedly wheeled out the courtroom while yelling obscenities at the judge.

But you're right, Bill, Heaven only knows the stunts that Rob Black and company might pull in a courtroom (especially if they're convinced it might help to revive their dead or dying Xtreme Pro Wrestling). Lol.

Edit: Oops. I gotta get in the habit of using Spell Check.

If the wide-spread tales of bouncing Extreme checks are any indication of Black's personal financial status, he's not even going to be able to afford Isaacman's initial retainer, let alone go all the way to trial.

Hey, Boys 'n girls, you need to look at the real picture.

This is not about 'bounced checks' or "extreme dvd's are shite quality " or about Rob Black...........This is about arbitrary OPPRESSION .

Any one of you could be next.

What if some hick complained about 'I LIKE IT ROUGH' and claimed it to be obscene ?

We should all be as one force to fight those who try to impose their morality upon us.

I am an adult and should be free to view consensual adult entertainment without being told it's obscene based upon ambiguous interpretation.

I made the comment about guys off the street and stand corrected about your willingness to give new guys a shot. Lets just hope whoever the new guy(s) is/are its someone who is serioulsy hard, rough and nasty and not some non descript guy who can get wood and cum on command. I may be alone but my biggest problem with porn, aside from the barrage of mediocre girls (as oppossed to real hot looking ladies like Jewel) is about the guys. Not hard enough, rough enough or kinky enough to make a scene interesting. While I dont have the equpment he does, I KNOW Im not the only guy in the world who likes to fuck and manhandle a girl like an out of control savage madman, ala Rocco. Just need a few more guys like that in porn.

While totally agree with your 1st amendment, freedom of choice sentiments, you've got to understand this attack was NOT arbitrary. This moron Rob Black went before a national TV audience (PBS Frontline) and DARED to be charged with obscenity. And now he's well on his way.

Extreme Associates has been acting irresponsibly for years. They intentionally produced products for shock value as well as entertainment, that push the limits of what we all know in this industry would keep law enforcement off our backs.

And the end result is that all of us connected to this business -- performers, directors, retailers, wholesalers, and consumers -- are now in harm's way and need to watch these developments very carefully. With the boxes of documents the Feds have seized any one of us may find ourselves connected to this degenerate slimeball.

So, we all now have Rob Black declaring himself a savior and martyr for us all. Yes, the company that abuses its talent, bounces checks, produces shitty product and mouths off at the Feds will eventually be placed in front of a jury. And all America will get to judge US -- the adult industry -- based on Rob Black's intelligence and public relations skills.

Extreme Associates intentionally provoked this fight, and intentionally placed our industry at risk. We must now all take on a first amendment battle we do not need, and have a poor chance of winning cleanly. And even if we win, what do we gain?

This has to score some type of world record for stupid.

And THAT'S the real picture.

I'm not in the industry and I admittedly don't know jack shit, but I have to agree 100% with Steve P.

Extreme is getting what's been coming to them for a long long time, and what's transpiring is something that the adult industry has been warned about time and time again by the more socially practical porn proponents. Like Steve P. says it is terribly unfortunate that the adult industry, the good and the bad, is now going to be represented by Rob Black whether they like it or not. I'm all for free speech, and I'm certainly one of the first out of the gate when it comes to criticising the shortcomings of the obscenity standard, but the industry's lack of self-regulation, and more importantly Extreme's flagrant provocation of US prosecutors is what has caused all this. It ultimately has nothing to do with what you or I like to see in our porn. It has to do with the practical prospect of losing ALL legal pornography because some of those people in power don't see things quite the same way you or I do.

Hey--I've made no secret about the fact that I like some of the harder edged stuff. That doesn't mean though, that I'm completely blind to the dangers of producing it, or the risk that it poses to the whole of the adult industry. As I've said before (and I'll say it again) some things are worth fighting for, but Extreme Associates has been the canker sore on the butt of pornography for a long time now... and for many many reasons. I'm damn sure that if I were in the industry, I wouldn't want Rob Black to be up on the stand speaking for ME... or "fighting" for my "rights".

I believe strongly that a case like this is not comparable to the battles that Larry Flynt fought and won. Even if Rob Black "wins" (and for the record, if this truly is an obscenity trial, I hope that he does), we all lose. I really just don't see the point of taking this fight to this extreme. I'd rather live without the edgier stuff than to have to watch the industry continually battle for it's survival. I realize that because porn is such a huge business that it probably isn't going anywhere, ultimately, but for the industry to have to rally behind one of its least respected members in order to ensure its livelyhood is just absurd.

...and they did it all by themselves.

They, and by they I mean Rob Black, has continually not given a fuck about what he produces.

I don't like seeing a whole entity, such as the adult industry, lumped under one category with Extreme. It's a shame that in an industry where I've found some of the nicest people in the world, that we have to "deal with this"

But, that's the way it goes, I just hope that Extreme doesn't ruin porn for all, like I had predicted a year ago.

Here's my view as a company owner you can never make everyone happy no matter what you do. There is a thing called tact which Extreme never adapted too. Yes we make movies with strong sex but we are not rapeing, choking them out and making them cry and feel degrated on any of our sets. Extreme did all these things I should know I was in the movies and did it all first hand and it really was a bad place and I finally had to walk as so many of their other great talented performers did. I'ts one thing to push the envelope of hardcore then there's Extreme who shoves it down everyone's throat to the point of puking!! Rob can claim to be a hero for fighting for our rights, but when we were there for him where was he? He's not a hero and doesn't look out for anyone but his own ass and would run over his own family to save himself.

Limits ....Limits .....Limits

Consensual freedom should have no limits.

When companies make vanilla porn just to make a few bucks and hope those who impose ambiguous limits stay away from them, have IMO no right to judge those who express themselves more aggressively.

I'm not saying Rob Black is a saint, nor that he's doing this as a fight for freedom of expression (because we all should know, porn is about making money). What I want is for people to look at the other side of the coin.

What right does anyone have to tell me what I can or cannot view?

I don't forcibly impose my moral values upon others, so should I kneel down and accept the limits of others ?

Products produced by Extreme are available to those who consensually seek them. They are not forcing anyone to view their material.
The fact that this company calls itself "EXTREME" is a warning in itself!

If an actress signed a contract to star in an Extreme production, did she not know what she was being asked to do?
I find it hard to believe a claim that 'stars' were made to perform non-consensual acts because ...a) They could have simply walked out.....and b) dial 911.

Rob Black and Extreme Associates are not heroes and they might be fighting this for selfish reasons but the cause is just and that's why I'll always fight oppression.

Extreme is just the easiest target for our beloved federal freedom fighters to go after.

Wanna bet that Mason's videos are on the same list?

Oh, and if each of us hasn't at least sent a letter to our congress-critters telling them to either get their hands off our porn or draw back a bloody stump, then we deserve to have our porn taken away from us.

Climbing down from the soapbox,

True, but the danger in an obscenity prosecution is that Asscroft's henchmen see anything that fits the government's own definition of hardcore--penetration clearly visible--as equally obscene. (Luke ran an interview with a federal prosecutor on this in, I believe, January). This fight is about Extreme, but the mission isn't just about Extreme, or extreme, or just gonzo, either. Remember, these are the same feds who brought up Adam and Eve -- yeah, ADAM AND EVE -- on obscenity charges back in '86.

If it's about obscenity, it may well affect everyone...and IMO, if there's a case here, that's not what it should be about. See below.

Well, you can't view a Traci Lords tape even in your own home (in the U.S.). I get why this is, but not why this is automatically deemed way way worse than, say, getting off on someone getting raped for real or getting a black eye for real right there on camera. Personally, I'd rather see law enforcement focus on this rather than on 20-year-old videotapes.
Yes, but I can see how someone might be frightened out of saying anything, 'specially if she's 110 pounds, buck naked, and surrounded by a bunch of 250-pound guys intent on doing shit that it wasn't clear she'd be doing.

Clarifying this is so EASY, so potentially ASS-SAVING, that anyone who cares about their own ass (or the performers') oughta do it. For its own sake, the industry oughta make this as mandatory as PCR-DNA tests, thus making it easier to distance itself from those who'd get everyone else's ass in trouble along with their own. From a previous post:

It's still unclear how any prosecution will shape up. If it's about "obscenity" (as in the "girlspooping.com" case), I agree totally with you--while I might think that's gross and would never pay for it, someone else should be free to. But if the focus is on oppressing people into doing shit they didn't know they were in for, or giving them rubber checks afterward, you're talking coercion and fraud. Fuck obscenity, these should be the only concerns here, and if proven, the perps' asses belong in jail.

Well my problem isn't the material even if I don't like it my problem is that they never paid a check that didn't bounce more than once. They were shut down by several banks because of check fraud it was just stupid after a while especially if you gave them a great movie. The other problem they go insulting the government and their officials and try to have a pissing contest with them, well doesn't look like that was very smart. The problem is the Extreme group thought they couldn't be taken down and that they would survive but when you burn all your bridges with everyone who had your back then you try to cut your hair and make a mend with people it's because you know you screwed up and you're scared because this will be a battle you brought on yourself and Rob has no one except himself to blame. He treated his contract people like crap and thought because they were under contract he owned them and they had to do things they didn't want to do or they didn't get paid and that got old and he ran out of good talent. He want's to revamp his company because he's broke and it took a major fall for him to realize he needs to shape up not because he gives a crap about the rest of us!

We should all be as one force to fight those who try to impose their morality upon us.

Extreme Associates is the fly in the ointment of the adult industry. They are there, but don't care about anyone else. So this whole "we should stand together" talk is not gonna happen, Extreme Associates has numerous times gone far and beyond the norm and totally not given a shit about who or what they walked on to get there. The fact that so many directors have gone to Extreme and left shortly should be an indication that Extreme Associates doesn't care, even about their employees/stars/directors.

I'll be the first to admit that my tastes are far beyond what some will consider the norm, but to say that I should stand behind a company who wouldn't stand behind me is ludicrous. Hell, Extreme wouldn't even provide help for a favorite of yours, Hardz, Max Hardcore:

When Max Hardcore went calling for industry support, noticeably absent from Hardcore’s supporters was none other than Extreme Associates.

I am an adult and should be free to view consensual adult entertainment without being told it's obscene based upon ambiguous interpretation.

We all are adults, I think, and while the majority of us can decide for ourselves what we want to watch, that doesn't give a producer the right to put out anything that we might buy. There are limits in the US as to what can be sold. Some of these limits may or may not be established, but as long as someone pushes and pushes, it won't be long before limits are definitely set.

You can't keep pissing into the wind and keep expecting not to get wet, you will.
