All of the actors have squares in their face (is this what they call pixelation?) Every time there is the slightest movement you see a bunch of small squares everywhere. This disc is pure garbage, too bad it is a decent movie that got trashed by it's transfer. Ass Clowns #1 is a bit better, but not much. But if you want Abyss get the tape. The disc belongs in the garbage where I'm putting it now, what a waste of money. [Link] |

Senior Member 1679 Posts 2/01 | Posted - Apr 14 2002 : 9:31PM By the way, I scanned through the whole disc of Abyss and found that of the five scenes, the first 3 had heavy pixelation, more than any other disc I have ever seen. The last two scenes (the two jail scenes) the picture improved greatly and the pixelation is not present, but that still leaves 3 scenes that are to me totally unwatchable. Whoever it is that mastered this dvd truly fucked up and furthermore, whoverer gave this dvd release the go ahead at Extreme should be ashamed of themselves, letting their customers purchase below average product (as far as the picture quality goes). I will no longer buy an Extreme disc just because I saw it on tape and think it's good enough to get the disc. I will either wait for a review or see if I can find it for rent before purchasing. They screwed this one up royally. [Link] |
