You may remember I have been on this forum many a time in the past discussing the latest Bella/Rocco movies...and oily ladies :) But lately I have been thinking...and that's always dangerous :) What do you think of all the "violent" looking acts that are mainstream these days? Personally, I love it, when I know the lady loves it...BUT I really want to be assured that noone is being coerced or threatened or forced to do things they don't enjoy...is that possible? I am worried about girls being bought from the poorer areas of our world, promised a new life and sold into porn. And I am worried about the little boys ...(even though they shouldn't be seeing it...they WILL get hold of some)....that grow up seeing choking and spitting and general "abuse" of women.....but NOT the behind the scenes, negotiating between a strong empowered hot woman who knows what she likes/will do for money....and a horny but respectful man...Will those boys grow up thinking all women love it, or that you don't need consent to do those things? It worries me, and I am wondering how much it worries you really? Would you guys buy porn that had some kind of ethical mark? Like fairtrade? And to those in the industry...how much is already being done about coercion/abuse and threatening behaviour in porn? Is there already people wanting to show the importance of consent before a scene? (I know it may kill the illusion, so BTS might be the way forward..) Like in the Sexandsubmission website? I hope I don't come across like I think all you guys in the industry are somehow allowing awful things to happen, it's just that with any big industry, it's difficult to regulate, and I was wondering what the indusry itself is already doing/could still do? But also what the public reckons to it all? Just to calm my own fears so I can carry on enjoying porn really. xx  [Link] |

I can see boys having less and less respect for women if they grow up looking at modern smut. But ass a corollary girls are growing up to be more independent and capable of dealing with this crap. But I too like rough nasty porn when the girl is enjoying herself. I think a girl enjoying a good fuck, is what straight porn should be about. That and women exploring sex. I agree the kink.com way of framing a scene to make clear that it is all consensual and enjoyable whatever attitude the woman takes on within the theatre of the scene is probably the best way of handling it. I doubt this could be formalised in a 'fairtrade porn mark'. The best we can do is make an effort as porn consumers to make good choices. [Link] |
| Tristram Member 80 Posts 2/06 | Posted - Nov 10 2007 : 8:36AM One point has to do with how porn is produced and, sure, if someone constructed a list of sound rules and a sticker which companies that abided by those rules could put on their movies, then I would prefer to buy or rent those movies. To a certain extent I'm already guided in my consumer behavior by some vague ethical ideas. Quite a lot of porn produced in Eastern Europe has a feel to it that I find suspect, there's a predatory air about it that I really don't care for. The other point has to do with the effect, especially on young boys, of all the rough sex that can be seen in porn. Here I tend to agree with Shagdog that attitudes towards women tend to be formed well before boys encounter porn in any greater quantities. My worry is more that those who already have a bad attitude towards women what they need to encounter is stuff that would influence them to the better and I can't see current porn doing that - it will probably just give them bad ideas. Because you can't really regulate what is available all you can do is inform opinion and hope that they see the scenes they see with wiser eyes. I don't think a fair trade sticker would be workable. What would be good though, is the way the football world has anti-rasicm events and anti-football violence initiatives....is for porn to openly have widely publisised anti-rape sexual abuse initiatives, publicity, maybe a pet charity? And for the industry (at least the mainstream industry) to work in an atmosphere of zero tolerance to the genuine abuse and assault of women in the porn and sex industry as a whole....for actresses to take a stand and name names... I realize they could jeopardise their careers, but with all the male talent lining up to do the job, if the industry is supportive, bad male performers can be expendable? [Link] |
