Clearly, in a society where homosexuality (male especially) is still regarded with derision, and any homoerotic thoughts are kept to oneself, the spheres of anonymous internet dating/messageboards are a perfect place to live out a fantasy, or simply to pretend to be someone else - a different identity completely - as someone else here pointed out. I think we try to categorize sexualities too strictly, whereas in fact they are much more complicated, and something like a continuum. [Link] |
