To those who are "on the inside"/ work in the adult entertainment industry I have a question. If you have seen episodes of this T.V. reality series on Showtime that is. How realistic is it in it's portrayal of the adult entertainment industry?
It's very realistic in some aspects, though it ignores all the (venereal) warts ... though that recent B.S. with aspiring male talent being forced to jerk off to orgasm in a conference room in front of a panel of people was absolutely unheard of in my experience ... also, if you're paying attention, quite alot of the situations are total set-ups for "dramatic" or "humorous" interest -- like Chinese TS Allenina showing up for a shoot where neither the shooter nor the male talent knows her gender status -- lol.
It really is more a portrait of a family than an industry, though not as well-done (or interesting) as the one last year about the family of bail bondsmen ...
I've recently discovered this prog. up here in Canada on a channel called "Showcase". And all I can say is, I've seen a few "warts"! I gotta go, I'll post examples tom.
I realize the following question is a little off topic and maybe too personal to receive an answer, but it is one that I’ve been dying to know the answer to since the show started.
Does Seymore Butts have sole or share custody of his son? The reason why I ask this question is because I don’t recall ever seeing anything on Family Business which suggests he share custody.
If he has sole custody is because of a court order, or did Brady’s mother willingly give up her parental rights?
IAFD, supporters of beastiality. Just say no. 7564 Posts 11/02

They are still real though -- as in not imaginary.
Edited: A propos, aren't you confused a little? Your tits may be plastic, but your bits certainly not, no?

They should have a disclaimer on the back reading: 'Miss Kassin is NOT in this movie. We only put her picture on the cover to get that loser in San Diego to pick up the box and consider the movie. Thank you.'"
i watched that episode with april storm, seymore's personal assistant/publicist - and she said that it is entirely real, the whole show. as for the guys in the "talent search", you notice the 3 guys they chose were already in the business, mac turner, will powers, and damian.
Wart number one: "Seymore" decides against his better judgement to use a guy that he's never worked with before in his latest video. During shooting, when it becomes appearant that he can't cum on comand or just plain can't cum, "Seymore" first contemplates telling the guy that they don't need him anymore and to go home. Then he decides that the guy will "stay in the picture" but he tells the guy to fake an "internal" and that his face won't be shown on camera/in the video.
Wart number two: "Seymore" admits on camera that sometimes he has to utilize the services of hookers in the making of his videos.
Wow, those certainly aren't what I think anybody would consider "warts" in this business -- just the daily challenge of making fuck films. By "warts" I meant that his TV crew didn't follow him into the industry conclave at the beginning of the moratorium last year, & capture sobbing actresses, pissed-off male talent, weasley gonzo producers & big-money guys inviting everybody to enjoy LFP's donated coca-cola & chicken-wing spread & don't worry, be happy ...
(Mr. Butts was in fact one of the only people there to try & address the problems facing the industry from a decent, moral point of view)
I guess I'll have to do some more watching of episodes. Beyond that, I'd agree that what you mentioned are definitly BIGGER warts than what I posted! Like I may have said I don't work within the biz therefore...
I got a ton of questions concerning this show especially this week:
1. Who was that Isabel on the show (Is it ADT's very own Isabel?)
2. Anyone think Stevie really pissed off Tiffany Graneth and her fiance or is that bullshit? Everyone knows Tiffany does not do porn.
3. Has his assistant April ever posed or got nude or done any movies? She shows more cleavage then I have ever seen, every single shirt is low cut. (any idea cwians?)
Yes, I had few problems with the show but have recently come to the conclusion that this is probably the best way to go for an introduction to a mass audience to the world of porn and to show that directors and talent are real human being's and don't have horns. In a recent epicode with Julie Night they really pushed the envelope with her having dinner with straight friends of Uncle Stevie and commenting about wanting the Chinese waitress to pee in her mouth. Yes, the show is a lot about his family with his Mother, Uncle Stevie and his son. If he shared custody with anyone except his former ex. Taylor Hayes, also ex porn star she would be asking for full custody. As the envelope is pushed more and more of us Gonzo fans will get off Showtimes'sack. Wayne In Dallas
Yes. I think that the episode where he got a new house was the season finale.

Damn, Taylor Hayes. It all makes so much sense now. I was sure Brady looked like someone that I'd seen, but I thought he might be Alisha Klass's son.
But, now that you say Taylor, I feel stupid for not seeing it. He looks just like her.
I stopped watching it regularly a while ago. The fakeness was getting in the way of the entertainment.
Adam kind of went from seeming sweet to seeming arrogant and Stevie and his mom were already a bit much, so we need a more likeable lead. This could have been the way SHO wanted it and edited it that way, but it had a negative effect on the show.
The emphasis became the family and not the business, which also didn't help.
