But what I would have LIKED to see is a package like that for the big 4 disc Fellowship of the Ring set or the first season of Twin Peaks. The Fashionistas box is very similar to those but it only has two actual hubs. The other two discs (the extras DVD and the CD of the soundtracks) are stored in little CD envelopes in pockets on either end of the package. It's really a shame. Almost makes me want to at least take the extras DVD out and stick it in one of my extra Amaray cases. However, the packaging looks spectacular... with some great photos and stills from the movie all over the place (including underneath the disc hubs). I'm sure Tricia will be able to tell you more details about what this type of packaging is called, as I'm not sure. I just wished there was a hub for each disc. :) Mike L. [Link] |

With the high price of this title, knowing about the demand in advance would certainly reduce the inventory risk, while at the same time, reduce the chances of running out of stock too quickly. And there would have been an outside case. I can't tell you exactly what this package cost, but I can say it's already about 50 cents more than we thought we were going to spend, but we went ahead and paid the extra to get a few things we felt the packaging absolutely couldn't do without. An extra plastic tray would have added on ANOTHER 40 cents or so per unit. As for preorders, I understood why a lot of companies didn't do it. They aren't going to have the discs in their possession until the 6th, and if they take orders before then for that date, and something happens on our end to delay that, they're the ones who are going to get the complaints. I have confirmations from Gamelink, DVDadvantage and AdultDVDnow that any orders placed by noon tomorrow that ask for overnight shipping will indeed be shipped tomorrow. [Link] |

It's basically the same as our VHS review, with a couple added tid bits about AVN awards, and of course added comments about the DVD quality and extras. There are also vidcaps in this version that I hope will serve to compliment Astro's. I know I'm a broken record, but I really do think this movie raises the bar of what can be done in terms of the future of porn. It's not just that it appeals to my personal tastes (as of course it won't appeal to everyone) but that it's well thought out, high quality, and genuinely compelling to watch. When I talked to Belladonna about it, she said it came from her heart and she was very proud of it. She should be. Comments like those from the performers make it that much more of an important film in my mind. I hope this is an indication of things to come. I think porn is better now than it ever has been, and Fashionistas single handedly makes a damn good case for that argument. Just my two cents. :) Mike L.
