A few days ago I saw the Faust from Mario Salieri, in short the movie is very poor(sucks), why?
There is so many things that confirm my opinion.
I think that mr. director tried to make something specialy and something difrent that all other pornos, the story is very boring and long with short action scenes.
He tried to make the diference with costimography, but people aren't renting or buying pornos because of clothes.
The sex scenes are very short and the camera angle isn't the best. There were so many handsome girls, but in action just a few minutes - what a pity!
Good sex scenes with handsome girls are making porno better or worse.
On the cover is written that the movie lenght is 180min, but the truth is 120 min.
In all I wouldn't recomend this movie!
From now I will try to aviod movies made by mr. Salieri.

I cant agree with lord 0f porn
I have also seen faust and also Salieris masterpieces
of the last 2 years
Divina, Stavros...
Its true that Salieri movies contain much story
and not only fucking sucking of big breasted girls
some sexscenes are only about 3 minutes like Selen in Dracula
but great locations and actresses which have really style
like Selen, Draghixa, Deborah Wells, in the past
and julia Taylor, Bambola, Monica Roccaforte today
If you wanna see more sexscenes you should see the movies
of his wife nicky ranieri, there is not so much story
the girls are beautiful too but some movies of her contain
a lot of violence.
the 180 minutes on faust are devided in the mainmovie and
a special movie behind the scenes
There are also many beautiful pornstars in Salieri productions like rebecca lord, Victoria Paris, Julia Taylor, Rita Faltoyano...

Victoria Paris

Edited: many beautiful girls, that is true, but why does Salieri often give them alternative names? Angelica Bella becomes Gabriella Dari, Anita Rinaldi becomes Anita Santos, Sharone/Szilvia Laurent becomes Olivia de Clarck, Monique Covet is Monica Sander, Nikki Platts is Lea Rimer, Illona is Lena Grendick, Karma is Candy Manson, Dora Venter is Melinda Jensen, Veronica Sinclair is Silvia Kristian, Eva Roberts is in Stavros 2 , but is she Cristina Del Drago, Mara Fless or Silvia Askin? There are many more, even Julia Taylor was billed a couple of times as Julian Bador.
So my question is, anyone know who Lena Bostic from Les pornocrates really is?

After careful thought (ha!), I've come to the conclusion that Salieri has a short attention span. This would explain the length of his scenes and his inability to remember the names of his female stars.

A short attention span? Hmm, maybe we should ask the performers in his movies, like Steve Holmes, what it means to do a scene for Salieri.

There is a 1994 video from Sasha Alexander productions
called "Addicted to love". It is in two parts and directed
by Mario Salieri.
In the first part is victoria paris there she has her hardest scene she ever done with 3 guys
also at the beginning of the movie a sexscene with ron jeremy who always plays the bad guy in salieri movies
there is also Carole Tredille an ex miss france in there
in some very hard sexscenes
yes its true many salieri actresses use different names

I don't think this is correct. There are two reviews for Faust, neither by Lindi. However, these reviews are for the Private movie of this name, not the Salieri/Goldlight movie.

Yep, different Faust (Private -- Faust: The Power of Sex), and the review is on pornblography.com, because it was on VHS, not dvd.

Isn't this great. After all the discussions about which Sandra or Angela we might be talking about, now we have to look out for getting confused about similar titles as well.

the funny thing is that in both movies
rita faltoyano appears
for all the lovers of highclass hardcore
and sex and crime i can recommend
concetta licata part 1 and 2
about sex, murder, mafia
great with selen, dalila, erika bella, draghixa

Working for Mario Salieri is very hard. It takes very long to set the light the way he does it. He shoots between 5 to 10 hours for a scene which is 3 to 12 minutes in the movie.

I only work for Mario because I really like his movies and I'm proud to be part of it.

I believe Steve was pretty much impressed with Katsumi.

FAUST was the very first Salieri movie where I had a very little role. It was like a test. I asked Mario to work for him for about 5 years. Finally he booked me for that little scene with Katsumi.

In the meantime I worked more for him and he booked me already for his next big shoot in September 2003. The movies are not released yet. At least not on DVD as far as I know.

Best regards
Steve

Hallo Steve, Fumetto,

I saw this post whilst viewing Yahoo generally looking for Nikki Ranieri (or should that be Nicky ?)

About Mario Salieri - I thought that "Faust" on VMD (DVD 69660) with Rita, Katsumi (who is very good in "L'Affaires Katsumi") etc. was an excellent movie - better than Private's movie "Faust - The Power Of Sex" with Rita's snake on the front cover (DVD 314DF).

I do remember Erika Bella (Rouge) once saying in a Private magazine (which I have still) that working for Mario Salieri was "like torture" !!

Buona Notte and Regards from London!

Extract from the Web

REUTERS 5/20/01:

But director Nanni Moretti's success followed another triumph earlier in the week of fellow countryman and auteur Mario Salieri -- in the porn industry's annual Hot d'Or awards.
A veteran of the sector with some 100 titles to his credit as producer and 50 as writer-director, Salieri took the top award Thursday for ``Stavros,'' his erotic opus about a horny Greek tycoon who bears a more than passing resemblance to Aristotle Onassis.

Given the strict Italian laws regarding the production of pornographic material, Salieri, like most of his fellow directors in the thriving national erotica industry, now shoots primarily in France and Spain as well as Hungary and other parts of Central Europe.

Not one to shy away from ambitious, auteurial projects, Salieri is preparing to direct an X-rated version of the Faust legend.

GUCCI writes:

Since over 10 years Salieri is a controversial director within the Italian porn industry. His movies are very misogynist but on the same time very intelligent and intellectual.

In his movies he reflects the sources of todays cold, pornographic degradation of women and finds them within the structures of fascist and post-fascist Italian society. His movies are pornographic tragedies where every sexual action becomes a piece of the puzzle to reconstruct what’s wrong with society. And the excellent camera work is unseen in pornography: excellent lighting, no cam movements, rarely any close-ups – all in all: A very cold, analytical view of what’s going on.

His style is very influental: Not only his beautiful wife, Nicky Ranieri, is shooting her movies in the same style (and with the same, although not as "reflected”, misogynism) since ca. 10 years, also new directors such as Jenny Forte or Dino Toscani turn out to be true followers of his (in Italy and France) very successful style (also connecting pornography with topics such as catholicism and fascism).

Even famous director Max Bellochio from time to time makes movies in typical Salieri-manner ("Guardare” being one of his latest). Nevertheless, most famous Italian porn actress of the Nineties, Selen, who was for years under exclusive contract with Salieri, dismissed her contract in ca. 1997, because she was tired of playing abused women all the time and without exception.

Salieri's budgets: Some of them are for sure very high. He’s got excellent lighting and he gets the best out of the acting abilities of porn actors and actresses. Sometimes his movies have more than 20 minutes of talking without interruption. More talking than fucking. Plus: His movie "Inferno” (1999) for example must have cost quite a lot, because it involves over 40 famous European actresses (in a 90 min. movie) which all have their own scenes with practically no group scenes.

One of his latest movies, "Divina” (2001), includes as many music pieces as fuck scenes, involves very well composed and produced music pieces sung by Zara Whites and a "nonsex” singer. The movie is said to have cost about $500,000 dollars (difficult for me to judge if there’s still a lot money for laundry). Plus, yeah: There’s always been rumours about Salieri having close connections to the Italian Mafia.
