One of the greatest thing technology has brought to porn as been the additional space allowed by DVD to include additional footage, trailers and my favorite, Behind The Scenes segments. Once a tacked on flourish, now are pretty much required and I for one am definitely upset not to find one. Here you get not just the fascinating details about how porn is actually made, but the humanity of the people behind the scenes. But it's not always Tory Lane's hysterical personality run amuck nor the genuine heat of performers who keep going once the camera's off. Sometimes it's just so honest it's awkward and these are becoming a favorite of mine. Some of the more recent I've seen are: Bore My Asshole: An interview with Bree Olsen where the interviewer just goes silent when she tells him how old she was the first time she had sex. Hairy Movie: Mr. Pete trying to flirt with Sasha Gray about whether or not she finds him good looking and could they date and how she dances around the answer being a flat "No." Semen Sippers 5: Jenna Haze and Lela Star talking about going clubbing and Steve Holmes asking when are they "all" going and the girls responding with an awkward silence. Anyone else have a favorite awkward BTS moment?
Don't really remember the BTS stuff on most DVDs. However saw a DVD once that was ALL BTS, called "Most outrageous outtakes in porn" or something similar. There is a part where they capture Cindy Crawford crying in the bathroom because she was having trouble with the anal scene. But she wasn't crying because of pain or shame. She was crying because Belladonna's brother was on the set and he was bragging about his sister's elastic anal abilities, so Cindy felt inadequate in comparison At one point teary-eyed Cindy says Belladonna's brother told her that Belladonna can take an anvil up her ass. This idea for a thread is a really great one. I liked the BTS interaction with Keanni and Chelsie in the Gokkun disc they did together. Nothing groundbreaking or humorous, they was just nonchalantly talking about doing a bunch of guys.
Just remembered this: Maya Hills talking about her business plans and how she's going to be worth millions in a few years thanks to her investments, to which the interviewer replies, "Oh, so you're going to be a tycoon then?" Brad Armstrong in Euphoria showing the before and after effects of having the lighting rig on the studio they were using collapse (no one in studio at time of collapse). Armstrong points camera toward ceiling and says "An hour ago there were lights here." Armstrong then points camera at studio floor and says "An hour ago there were lights here also."
At the end of the early 90's flick The Dream Merchants there's a bit of extra footage showing Wayne Summers desperately stroking it trying to get hard while a very bored Lauren Brice lays sprawled on a bed waiting for him. Odd for a VHS video to have BTS material, but this seemed more like the producer/director included it just to have a laugh at poor Wayne's expense.
