It's a friggin' slaughter, there are 700% more posts in this forum about the gonzo porn scene than in the feature porn forum.

Is this because people who would seek out a site like AdultDVDTalk are what are 'raincoaters' and they are guys who want their porn as hardcore and bare bones as possible? Or is this a pretty good indicator about how the entire porn consuming public feels about gonzo versus feature?

What keeps feature porn afloat? I know there are now a bunch of satellite porn channels and digital cable has lots of PPV porn plus the hotel PPV systems - how much gonzo is showed on these various outlets? Are they leary about showing wall to wall gonzo movies from studios like RLD, Evil Angel,Anabolic etc? Is feature porn being kept alive by the political buying decisions of the satellite,cable and hotel PPV operators?

I literally can't watch the stuff, i would rather watch A&E or ESPN, anything almost over a feature porn movie.
I think it's possible to make watchable hardcore sex movies with a narrative but there just isn't the talent behind the camera, writing and acting talent to pull it off. Naaaaaaah.......u simply can't interject 10-15 long sex scenes into a movie and make it work as a movie, movies are movies and porn is porn, mixing them together doesn't work.

Gonzo is where it's at and will continue to be at. This whole 'couples' thing is a concept dreamed up by those that make feature porn. I've spoken to young chicks who like watching porn, they love Shane's World and Seymore Butts - gonzo.

I'm sure a bunch of older people of which I am one now when it comes to the Internet will recall how great porn was in the golden era - bah, it was classic all right, classic crap.

Why so judgmental about what kind of porn other people like? Sure, gonzo is all the rage now, but so what? Some gonzo is good, but it gets boring just like anything else. I like features because the sex is no worse, in fact a lot of it is better imo, and the feature is like a bonus. Many of them also have a 'wall to wall' option for people to skip the storyline if they want.

The Feature forum was implemented just a week ago, so we who do appreciate features as well as some gonzo could discuss them without having to hear blind and intolerant bashing from others. This is still thought of as the Main forum however, so it's still where most people post, although you can't always go by that. The top two directors most recently searched are Andrew Blake and Paul Thomas, so obviously many people are still interested in features, they just don't post on message boards.

This forum, the main forum, has been up for nearly 4 years, and has gone through a few name changes.

The Feature Forum only got put in place in March 2003, and has also had a name change since.

Naturally, with those facts, this forum will have a lot more postings in it.

While I haven't come close to seeing every gonzo title, I've seen enough to know it isn't exempt from Sturgeon's law either.
