| Pornmaster Mike Senior Member 32DDD 1462 Posts 8/02 | Posted - Mar 2 2003 : 3:08PM a company in Canada gets the exclusive distributor rights from certain studios, gets the master copy, and then replicates it themselves. to give you an idea of the quality they put out - they usually take out any extras the disc would have - ie. Wicked's Euphoria went from a 2-disc US release to a 1-disc, no extras Canadian edition. they have the rights to many studios including Digital Sin, Evil Angel, and Wicked so make sure you find out exactly what you are getting before you get it. the only good release they have is Traci, I Love You, because it's Traci Lords' only legal release that is available in North America! - Pornmaster Mike [Link] |

We SHOULD go after these people harder. We are trying to figure out better ways to do that and hopefully will figure out better ways in the VERY near future. As for the website pointed out earlier in this thread that used the VHS, we will immediately look into that. We will be finishing the editing on ONCE YOU GO BLACK on Monday, and this finding (thank you) could most likely convince us that we need to experiment with putting the watermark on the VHS copy too. On the other hand, having just visited the nforce.nl site listed I can tell you that no amount of watermarks, bells, whistles or klaxxons will make the damnedest bit of difference to this kind of copying. These people won't be copying for a paysite but because they are part of the bizarre world of warez where pasty young men try and get the latest game/film/application 5 minutes before anybody else and CaPiTaL LeTtErs are inexplicably used in the middle of words. Removing the portion where a watermark exists only adds about 10 seconds to the stealing of content. I can (and have) removed the watermarks on a certain Interracial site and simply added my own. Really a simple process. The other possiblity is that by maintaining the watermark, it may give license to the webmaster to use the 'stolen' content as long as there's a link to Jaded, Gamelink, etc to purchase the DVDs.
