They believed that "spilling seed" without specifically attemting conception was a sort of sin, so they found a way to avoid ejaculation. I'm sure there is a discussion of this method somewhere on the web. It is real, I (and Sting) didn't make it up, it is supposed to require some practice before it works properly. I've never tried it. Membranes of both cavities then fuse with the skin membrane, the urethra and anal canal form themselves by reduction of the cavities in their distal part. Between the anal membrane (-->anus) and the uro-genital membrane (-->penis or vagina, where it will be separated) is the perineum. Later the external genital organs form themselves. [Link]
