Seems to me things have changed a fair amount. In relation to the number of female in the industry it is small. And I can further qualify that I am really pointing to those with very high profiles (as we were on the Abella topic). It isn't strict when you consider they allow HIV positive men to do bareback scenes with HIV Negative men (consenting and informed of course). They also allow HIV positive men to work with negative men when using condoms (even if status is undisclosed). You also have a situation now where current medications can lead to people getting "negative" on the industry standard test and nobody knows they have HIV. There have been films out there marketed as an HIV negative guy purposely being barebacked by HIV positive men as part of an attempt to get infected. It is pretty much accepted in Gay porn and I am fine with that; they all know what they are getting into . The controversy is always when you have men who work both sides and that is what scares people. A lot of the men who do TS scenes also do gay scenes; so the TS stars are considered a problem by many in the "straight" industry due to all this intermingling. There have been TS porn stars dying of "undisclosed terminal illness" and that also fuels the fear. A lot of it is fear mongering and bigotry towards TS, no question. However, we do need to understand there are some root causes as to where that fear comes from. This is a complex issue. I believe there is a test out there that will detect someone's status even if their medications lower their viral load to levels that allow "undetectable" to show up on current test.
