Since I hadn't seen a Kristian Bjorn DVD yet, that was high on my priority list. I've watched the first scene so far, and it was really great. Which is saying a lot for me, since I tend to prefer the American gay guys over the Euro gay guys. As we all know, gay titles are really expensive, so I don't buy a ton. Well, I recently discovered that people are selling their watched DVDs on ebay for very reasonable prices. I got Thick as Thieves in very good condition for $24. They also had Heat (uncensored) from Titan listed. But I lost the auction which ended at $35, which was still a bargain.  [Link] |

Speaking of old gay porn, I cashed in some Kickbacks credits and now have The Wakefield Poole Collection on the way. IMO, Kristen Bjorn really hit his stride in the time period of these videos. The only KB DVD I own is Comrades in Arms , which I like except for the emphasis on Marko Nagy, but I'd like to add another title. It is difficult for me to make a short list from all Kristen Bjorn titles - every one of them is, at the very least, good. (And Bjorn's merely "good" is often better than California's best!) Here's my list - subject to change, based on my mood:

I thought the last scene was the best. Followed closely by the paint scene. I liked these best because they weren't huge group scenes that seemed more impersonal. Also, lots of kissing was a big plus for me. I can't say that I liked this better than some of the better Titan movies I've seen, although there were many pluses. I liked: nice production values, guys with looks that closely match my tastes, letting the guys speak in their native languages which helps for more natural acting - then subtitling instead of dubbing. Also, strong sex all-around. I didn't like so much: I didn't understand why they switched rooms at least once or more in pretty much every sex scene. So all in all, I thought it was very solid, and I will most likely watch another Kristen Bjorn DVD at some point. But I took joeblow's advice and got Heat and Trespass from TLA, and it will probably take me at least a couple weeks to watch those, along with Absolute Arid and Absolute Aqua that I got on the same order. I agree with all your comments on Kristen Bjorn, especially about the over-reliance on group settings. More than one of Bjorn's models have stated in interviews that they prefer the group scenes. I think it's because it seems less "gay" to them, especially the Eastern European models, nearly all of whom profess to be straight. But that doesn't mean they are not capable of very erotic one-on-one scenes or that Bjorn is incapable of capturing those types of scenes, as the finale to Thick As Thieves shows. I think you will like the second scene in Heat, as well as Anthony Lafont's scene with Lane Fuller in Absolute: Aqua. Let us know what you think! [Link] |
