I recently ordered 4 DVDs from Five Star. Out of those 4, 1 was In Stock, 1 was Expected on 6/20/00, and the other 2 were Out of Stock with no expected date given.
The 2 Out of Stock titles were "Debbie Does Dallas: The Original" and "Insatiable". So first of all, I was wondering if these two titles are OOP, since that would explain why they are Out of Stock. If they're not, then I was wondering how Five Star handles Backorders. Will they ship my order separately as the items become available, or will I have to wait until all the items can ship together? Also (and I know this is different for every order) how long does it usually take for Five Star to get Out of Stock titles back In Stock because if they're anything like CDNow then I could be waiting months before I see my order.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, and I offer anyone who replies a "Thank You" in advance.

Why don't you try e-mailing them.
I had a similar problem whereby all the discs I ordered were on back-order.
They were kind enough to point out that if you need the whole lot sent as a single shipment they will appear as "back-order" on your order status.
They said that most out of stocks usually come within a week.
Get in touch with them, they are quite helpful.

I've ordered from Five Star a few times. I ordered 4 discs to get the free shipping. Each time, there was a disc that was on backorder. They sent the discs that were in stock and then shipped the backordered ones a few days later at no cost to me. I was so impressed. I thought it would have taken at least a week or two or they would have held up my order until everything was in stock. Nope! That's what I call taking care of the customer.

Well I placed my order on Friday, and so far they haven't shipped anything, not even the one item that is In Stock. I have e-mailed them about this but haven't gotten a response yet. I don't mind waiting a week or two, I just don't want my order to be left out in limbo for months like CDNow does. And I also can't seem to find Insatiable In Stock anywhere so I thought that it might be OOP or something.

Most of the stuff I've had on backorder with Five Star has shipped with a week. There was only one time when it took a couple weeks, and that was with a couple of the titles during their $7.99 sale. I hope your have Debbie Does Dallas - The Original comes in soon since I have it on backorder also.

I've just had the same experience. Ordered four, two back-ordered, one out of stock, none received. Six days ago is when I ordered.

actually telling me the price would have helped out. I did a search on Insatiable and Debbie Does Dallas at adultdvdempire. They are $24.95 each.. so right around $54 (after shipping). I then went to [url=466230]the adultdvdpricesearch</A to see what other stores sell them for. I found out Laser's Edge has the 2 of them with shipping for about $39 (fivestar being close behind at $41) and all the sites listed have them priced less than adultdvdempire. I don't know about anyone else but paying an extra $10-$15 for 2 dvds is not what I want to do.
To be fair, the main price jump comes from the fact that adultdvdempire has Debbie Does Dallas priced twice as high as some of the other adult retailers(most sites = $10-$12, adultdvdempire = $25). Insatiable is right around the same price at all of them (most sites = $22-$25, adultdvdempire = $25).

I am a regular Five Star customer. I can relate to the out of stock DVD problem. However, they are still one of the best online stores. They tend to have the best prices and service. I had one experience where one of my four DVDs that I ordered was out of stock. Since two of those DVDs were for a birthday present, they were willing to send me those two DVDs first. I received the remaining order a few days later. Five Star didn't even charge me for shipping for both of the shipments.
