Has anyone noticed that Five Star have removed their Fedex shipping option? Now, the only guaranteed shipping option available is Global Priority which is more expensive and slower!

I was going to place another order when I found I couldn't choose Fedex which I used for previous orders. I'm a little worried that using Global Priority I'll possibly have to pay duties and on a large order that could get expensive!

Has anyone used the Global Priority shipping option when ordering from Five Star? If so, how was the service, was it quick and did you have to pay any duties?

You are right, I just checked. That's strange, because I can see a $20 FedEx flatrate banner flashing above this page right now.

I have used global priority with them once to ship dvds (including the cases) to the Netherlands. It was pretty fast (3 days, I think), and no duties, but your mileage may vary, of course. I think the risc to get caught by customs is even smaller for disc+artwork shipments only.

But it's too bad that we have less choices. I have used the FedEx option also, and I loved the speed and tracking possibility.

Hey Doolittle,

You're right about the flashing Fedex banner above this thread! I wonder why Five Star stopped offering the Fedex shipping option. I just ordered from them two weeks ago and used the Fedex option then!

Don't know about any other countries, but, if we used the Fedex shipping options here to Ireland, we were pretty much guaranteed to have Irish Customs stop any adult dvd shipments. I know I sent in one or two complaints about this and so did a couple of friends of mine who had orders confiscated. I'm not saying this was the reason, but it may possibly have helped. Additionally, Five Star would on occasion bump the shipping method over to Fedex from, say Global Priority or other without us asking to, and that may have caused extra problems here.

This is only my opinion, but, maybe they have been getting other complaints, and pulled it?!? Actually, I think there may have been some discussion on this point in this forum before....

Global Express $27.50 by 1 item the only shipping method to southamerica.
I prefer better shipping options like Adultdvdtoday, $10 by 15 dvds to my country.

Unforuntately, we are no longer able to offer FedEx as a method of shipment. This includes FedEx International, FedEx International Letter, and International Mail services.

I apologize for any inconvenience.

Thank you.

Well to be honest, this makes fivestar much, much less attractive to me as a place to shop. I wish you would at least reconsider the pricing policy for 'Global Priority Letter'. A flatrate well below 10$(for a certain number of discs) would be more in line with some competing stores.

BTW while I'm typing this, the 20$ / 30 discs FedEx banner still flashes sarcastically above the page...

I have to agree that a flat rate 'global priority' shipping charge would be a very attractive option for fivestardvd.

At the moment they lose a lot of my custom to Adultdvdtoday whose prices are slightly more expensive yet they have cheap flat rate shipping to more then offset this.
