I used to buy from DVD Advantage very often with very good results. The only reason that I don't buy from them as often anymore is that they don't seem to keep up with new releases as well as the other stores that I've mentioned. Although, I haven't had problems with any of the vendors that I've mentioned, I've had a couple of situations in which I've dealt with Five Star that were out of the ordinary. The first one was shortly after I joined ADT (well before I became a moderator). Evil Angel's first DVD's had some problems due to being over+compressed onto a single layer. John Stagliano didn't like the quality of these discs and had them redone. He offered replacements to anyone who had bought the single layer versions. The replacements were being done by a retailer called "Blue Door" (I think). I had a problem where I returned 6 DVD's, but only received 5 replacements (and Blue Door wasn't going to do anything to fix the problem). I posted my account on ADT recommending that anyone who was going to get replacements should attempt to do this through the retailer that they bought them from rather than going through Blue Door. After reading my account on ADT, the owner of Five Star, sent me an e-mail offering to replace the sixth title for me for free. I had ordered from Five Star before that, but certainly not often enough to warrant that type of service. The second situation was very recent and was due to stupidity on my part. After placing an earlier order (from someone other than Five Star), I forgot to remove a title from my ADT Comparison Cart. When I placed my next order, which happened to be with Five Star, I ordered that title a second time. Upon realizing my mistake when I received my order, I e-mailed Five Star explaining the situation and asking for a way to resolve my problem. The answer that they gave me was the type of answer that I would hope for from a company if they were the ones who made a mistake rather than it being my fault. I can't possibly say enough about how incredible I think Five Star's customer service is and would never hesitate recommending them to anyone. [Link] |
