Are fluffers still being used in modern porn the way it was, say, back in the 80s? that is to prop the male talent before they go before the cameras? Seems like in today's gonzo world everything is done in one-fell-swoop. She pulls his din-a-ling out, she sucks him to hard-on, then we go for the pop shot. End of scene. Today the female co-star, it would seem, is one in the same. Fluffer-cum-costar. Also since most porn is shot on video there's no need for everyone to do it right the first time for fear of ruining scene and wasting precious film. Video being much easier to reshoot than expensive film. Id like to know about the status of fluffers in relation to porn today. Thank you.

Not that the girls working the scene don't sometimes fluff their partner, but I don't think any productions other than world record gangbangs actually employ someone to do it. These guys are so pumped up with ED drugs that they don't really need it anyway.
They are? When and whay sets? I've never seen or heard about this.

Pornactorforhire-You are an idiot! The only fluffing that happens these days is in one of two situations. (1. Male talent needs a little help and the female talent is in the mood to enjoy the scene and help out or (2. The female talent is concerned about getting the thing done because it's been running all day or she's also working as part of the production team and wants the fucking thing in the can and knows it's got to be done.
Answers like "I'll answer that later on" are just weak.

Who are you to presume omniscience about fluffing? I'm respecting the privacy of one producer, unless he wants the info published; so you call me an idiot. whatever....
There isnt a need for fluffers like there was in the 80's because we are shooting video not film, its cheap to lety it roll and we dont have to process and transfer it. Also the drugs make a big diffrence.
The closest thing I have ever seen is on Brandon Irons bakers dozen where 2 gals help suck off all those guys
well they call Maggie Star a "fluffer" for Alexandra Quinn in American Bukkake 20
but they put Maggie on the cover too and gave her almost as much screen time as Alexandra, so i guess she is really one of the stars and the "fluffer" label is just for marketing

This might be a little off-topic, but I remember once seeing a guest (an actor) on Jay Leno some years back who said he used to be a porn fluffer before he entered into mainstream entertainment. At that time, I was much younger and didn't even know what a fluffer was (of course they didn't bother to explain it on the show), although I did know what porn was. I just automatically figured that a fluffer must be the person who fluffs the pillows on porn sets. I don't even remember how I eventually came to learn what a fluffer really is- I think it was probably from watching Stern or Springer or some other such trash.
But anyway, I don't remember what the name of the actor was, though to the best of my memory, I think he was some actor from a 90's TV show (yes, I know that really narrows it down alot). Also, I don't think the guy was gay either, at least not openly. I also remember him saying during the interview that being a porn fluffer "is good work if you can get it." That is all I remember him saying about it before Jay changed the subject. Ever since then, everytime I hear the word "fluffer," I always automatically think back to that Tonight Show episode on which the actor said he used to be one. This causes me to wonder, How exactly would a straight male serve as a fluffer on a straight porn set, if this even actually happens?
By the way, the actor never said that he was a fluffer for straight porn, but I just assume that's what he meant unless he just didn't care about raising suspicions about his sexuality.
Im sure he was straight up trying to shock, although when a camera guy or director wants to eat your junk he ormally jokes about "fluffing" you

Although it is possible, it really didn't seem as though he was saying it for shock value. Jay was actually the one who first brought it up. As I recall, the dialogue went along the lines of Jay (with a straight face) asking the guy, "So, is it true that you used to work as a fluffer on porn sets?" This is what actually got my attention. The guy answers, "Yes, I did used to work as a porn fluffer. It actually is good work if you can get it." That's all they said about it before Jay changed the subject to something else. Also, there was no laughter whatsoever from the audience either, which could also possibly mean that I wasn't the only one in the dark as to what a fluffer was. I think this was before the time when the general public started getting hip to porn lingo.
