It's hard to explain a certain fetish or something you just like. I mean I for example can't understand why people like facials, I myself mostly FF facials because I don't like to see (male) cum.

All types of fetishes are basically clear and simple to understand. The footfetish on the other hand is extremely complicated, diverse and very different in details between one foot-fetishist and another.

I know that in Japan most women have their feet bound all their lives because they are something that can be kept girlish (see all that damn hentai they produce for reference)...seeing someones foot is sexualized because it isn't traditionally seen very much of the time, much like how in olden days pioneers used to go nuts to see a girls ankle. Oddly enough, I never knew there was such a thing as a foot fetish until probably around 1998. I'd have been about 25. I figured a lot of sexual things out for myself but I probably still wouldn't know there was any such thing as a foot fetish had it not been for porn.
I don't think, however, that a foot fetish is any harder to understand than any other fetish. If you have any kind of fetish at all, you can kind of understand. OTOH, as GJ says, if you don't get it, then you don't get it. There's no magic pill you can take to open yourself up to someone else's fetish. You basically just have to come to terms with the fact that some people are into things you'll never understand and leave it at that.
