My dear Kimi, I just gave a lecture about religion in Lebanon and I am curious about a few things:
Is there a sizable Lebanese community in Cleveland?
If so, are most Maronites, Sunni Muslims, Druze, Greek Orthodox, Chaldean, or Shi'a Muslim?
For anyone else reading, Lebanon is almost entirely Arab, but is one of the most religiously diverse places on the planet.

I would say there is a significant Lebanese population in Cleveland, Ohio. Looking at the year 2000 census for Cuyahoga County the reported Lebanese population is 6,869 or .5%, the Arab (nonspecific) population is 1.1% or 15,204.
The data I have doesn't tell me anything about religious backgrounds, so I can only speak for my own family. Heavily Maronite.
There are several really good arabic and/or Lebanese restaurants in and around Cleveland. There are oodles of temples, mosques and churches. One of the home offices of the Council of Lebanese American Organizations is here in Cleveland. Also, a www search for belly dancing teachers pulls up an ENORMOUS list right here in Cleveland (and all across Ohio, for that matter).

You are the best Kimi! Thanks! I don't think most people realize that most Arabs in the USA are actually like the Maronites instead of Muslims.

I tend to agree with you. Most also fail to realize that, just like many of thier European ancestors, many middle-eastern american immigrants came here for religious freedom.
