I have two. One, because it's the first poem I ever learned... Stopping by woods on a snowy evening, by Robert Frost. The second is absolutely anything James Joyce wrote (very hot stuff)

There Was a Man From Nantucket...

Poetry is not my thang - a novel is just a long poem if it expresses what the author thought and felt, no? Epics, Sagas, Songs - all of that is poetry. The oral history of many cultures is poetry, psalms is poetry, dance is poetry in motion, a sunset is nature's poetry. Define it for me, then maybe I'll answer the question :)

I'm not the woman I longed to be, but my favourite poem is Poe's The Raven .

That, and the lyrics to Blue Oyster Cult's Veteran of Psychic Wars

I second the road less travelled Tricia. It's the first poem I ever learned in school and I still remember it. My favorite toast is: Here's to you and here's to me, the best of friends we'll always be. But if by chance we disagree, FUCK YOU, here's to me.
