Drew, it seems all the clickable avatars do not work now.
I tried several different ones.
This comes up instead: The page cannot be found The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.
Please try the following:
* Make sure that the Web site address displayed in the address bar of your browser is spelled and formatted correctly. * If you reached this page by clicking a link, contact the Web site administrator to alert them that the link is incorrectly formatted. * Click the Back button to try another link.
HTTP Error 404 - File or directory not found. Internet Information Services (IIS)
Technical Information (for support personnel)
* Go to Microsoft Product Support Services and perform a title search for the words HTTP and 404. * Open IIS Help, which is accessible in IIS Manager (inetmgr), and search for topics titled Web Site Setup, Common Administrative Tasks, and About Custom Error Messages.
All images from images.adultdvdtalk.com are missing...
And that makes it really hard to read the forums, I can't see anymore what topics I have read and not, bweh! Guess I'll come back later and hope it will be fixed in the meant time.
i moved all of our "static" images to an outside hosting company. Stuff like our site logo, the forum icons, common images, etc. was moved to free up some bandwidth. The icons are small gifs but when they get fetched a couple hundred thousand times a day the bandwidth really adds up.
the hosting company freaked and pulled the plug on the site hosting these images for us. I've transitioned everything back to our server for the moment.

Sometimes (not every time), when people use the quote function in their post, instead of the usual lines marking out the quote I am seeing the code. It seems to happen most often when someone quotes a comment that itself included a quote. This is what I am seeing in, eg, this post from pornwire marked Jan 11 2006:11:31:53 PM.
Interesting. I'd noticed it with some of the icons before the forum move (this fella - - seems particularly susceptible) - but never with the quote lines.
I monitored all my tcp connections over the last days and learned some new things about the net. Until now I never heard anything about AKAMAI web balancing and it seems that a lot of sites use it. I wonder how much they charge for the service?
When I look at my connections and I see sextoytalk and I wonder why my browser has to access this site?
chaosunlimted looks like it is your company, so that's ok.
Your browser shouldn't be fetching anything from sextoytalk.com. (That is our site but you should have to specifically visit it for your browser to go to the site.)
But I think I know what the problem is now. You have the Google Web Accelerator installed or some other program like FasterFox. When you visit a page on our site your browser is compiling a list of href links on the page and then prefetching those pages. Since we have a link to sextoytalk.com at the top of the page on adultdvdtalk.com your browser sees it and runs off fetching the page. So instead of our server seeing one request from from you we get many dozens for each page you visit. Instead of loading the HTML for one "Page X" your browser is also fetching the HTML of all the pages that "Page X" links to. Combine this with your seriously inadequate local cache settings and you're a liability.
Please remove whatever program you're using that prefetches pages.
