 Registering |
|
Registration is not required to view current topics on the Bulletin Board; however,
if you wish to post a new topic or reply to an existing topic registration is
required. Registration is free and only takes a few moments. The only
required fields are your UserName, which can be your real name or a nickname, and a
valid e-mail address. The information you provide during registration is not
outsourced or used for any advertising by Adult DVD Talk. If you believe someone
is sending you advertisements as a result of the information you provided through
your registration please notify us immediately.

| Smilies & Images |
|
Please see Image Policy. The Image Policy also applies to any avatars that are uploaded.
We no longer allow users to embed images into their posts. Please use the [url=][/url] to link to a web page containing any images. (You may not link directly to an image. You must link to a page containing the image.)
To use smilies in your post click the Icon Legend link that appears below the text box when
you're replying to a post or starting a new thread. Then you can cut and paste the smilie code.

| Creating a Hyperlink in your message |
|
You can easily add a hyperlink to
your message. To do so place "[url=" in front of your url and "]" after
your url. Then type your description and end it with a "[/url]".
This Example:
[url=http://www.adultdvdtalk.com/forum/]Adult DVD Talk[/url] is a link
Outputs This:
Adult DVD Talk is a link
If you are linking to websites with pop-up windows please warn people.
Do not link to sites engaging in illegal activities. Do not link directly to images. (The forum automatically prevents users from linking directly to certain file types.)

| How to format text with Bold, Italic, Quote, etc... |
|
There are several codes you can use to change the appearance
of your text. Following is the list of codes currently available:
Bold: enclose your text with [b] and [/b]. Example: This is [b]bold[/b] text. = This is bold text.
Italic: enclose your text with [i] and [/i]. Example: This is [i]italic[/i] text. = This is italic text.
Underline: enclose your text with [u] and [/u]. Example: This is [u]underline[/u] text. = This is underline text.
Bulleted List: [list] and [/list], and items in list with [*] and [/*].
Ordered Alpha List: [list=a] and [/list=a], and items in list with [*] and [/*].
Ordered Number List: [list=1] and [/list=1], and items in list with [*] and [/*].
Quote: enclose your text with [quote] and [/quote].

| Moderators |
|
Moderators are wonderful people who volunteer their time to help keep our
forum organized, friendly and informative.
Please thank them regularly and send gifts occassionally.
Moderators control individual forums.
They can edit, delete, or prune any posts in their forums. If you have a
question about a particular forum, you should direct it to your forum moderator.
If you have an issue with how something has been moderated send a polite email to the moderator or me (webmaster@adultdvdtalk.com).
Posting a bunch of crazed nonsense about democracy and free speech will only lead
to the deactivation of your account.

| Changing Your Profile |
|
You may easily change any
info stored in your registration profile, using the "profile" link located near
the top of each page. Simply identify yourself by typing your UserName and
Password and all of your profile information will appear on screen. You may
change any items, except your UserName.

| Cookies |
|
This bulletin board uses cookies to
store the following information: the last time you logged in, your UserName and
your Password, if you set it in preferences. These
cookies are stored on your browser. Cookies are not used to track your movement
or perform any function other than to enhance your use of the bulletin board.
If you have not enabled cookies on your
browser, or if your browser does not support cookies you may not be able to post messages in the forum.
You may delete all cookies set in this forum by selecting the "logout" button at the top of any page.

| Editing Your Posts |
|
You may edit your own posts at any time. Just go to the topic where the
post to be edited is located
and you will see the edit icon ( )
on the line that begins "posted on..." Click on this icon to edit the post. No one else can edit your post, except for the forum Moderator
or the bulletin board administrator. A note is generated at the bottom of each
post that is edited so that every one knows when a post has been edited. Only forum moderators and administrators can delete posts. If you would like
to have a post deleted please email a moderator or administrator.

| Attaching Files |
|
For security reasons, you may
not attach files to any posts. You may cut and paste text into your post.

| Searching For Specific Posts |
|
You may search for
specific posts d on a word or words found in the posts, user name, date, and
particular forum(s). Just click on the "search" link at the top of most pages.
Note: announcements are not included in the search returns.

| Censoring Posts |
|
The bulletin board
administrators have the ability to censor posts. There is no automated censoring system in place. This is an adult forum and adult language may be used. Just try to keep
the profanities to a minimum. Excessively vulgar posts may be edited or removed at the discretion of the forum moderators or adminsitrators.
This forum may not be used to promote hate, violence or bigotry in of any kind. We also do not tolerate shameless self promotion. If you sign up with
the intention of only promoting your business or website your account will be deactivated and your posts deleted.

| Lost User Name and/or Password |
|
Retrieving your
UserName and Password is simple, assuming that email features are turned on for
this bulletin board. All of the pages that require you to identify yourself with
your UserName and Password carry a "lost Password" link that you can use to have
your UserName and Password emailed instantly to your email address of
record.

| Email Notification |
|
If you create a new topic,
you have the option of receiving an email notification every time someone posts
a reply to your topic. Just check the email notification box on the "New Topic"
forum when you create your new topic, if you want to use this feature.
