Does anyone know if Fox Magazine is still being published?

Fox is one of the magazines that went into bankruptcy as Blue Horizon (Gallery was another)
Blue Horizon was bought out of bankruptcy by Magna Publications (Genesis Swank Velvet and others)
As of now I don't know what they plan to do with Fox but last I asked they were considering to continue it but I likely won't be the same Fox. Magna doesn't show cumshots for example.

Wait a minute... Blue Horizon was bought out of bankruptcy by Magna? Are you sure about this, because this is the first I've heard of it. I don't think Fox was associated with Blue Horizon at all-- I forget the publishing name they went under but I can check later today when I'm in the office. Blue Horizon emerged from Crescent Publishing, but I don't think Magna had anything to do with it. We deal with Blue Horizon as totally separate clients from Magna. Magna did buy Fox and Gallery, I know that. They're continuing Gallery (at least for now) because they bought some sets from me for it. Don't know about Fox though.

Hey Holly I got it wrong it wasnt blue horizon But it was Fox and Gallery publishers, I think you are correct that Crescent. Blue Horizion I think is High Society and Cheri. but Fox and Gallery was correct sorry if I sent ya in a tizzy there.

But it did answer his question about Fox.

Yes, FOX, GALLERY AND LOLLYPOPS are now owned by Magna Publishing Group. They were purchased at bankruptcy auction.
The September 2008 issue of FOX is on newsstands now. Content is not changing in the least. Anal, ass gapes and cum shots as usual.

All I know is that Fox and Gallery both screwed me, the issues just stopped coming. I was a good sub for over 6 years. I have offically stopped buying adult mags outside of Playboy now.

I was buying Fox on a monthly basis and I finally decided to subscribe. I subscribed the first of january and to this day I have yet to receive an issue. So I paid $25 for a 13 issue sub and I have yet to receive anything for it. After finding out that Montcalm went bankrupt and Magna bought them out and would be releasing Fox, I was like yes I can finally enjoy Fox again with my subscription. So I emailed a Evan Honig from Magna and this is what he emailed me back:
We have just recently purchased these titles from bankruptcy. While we are not responsible for the prior publishers commitments, we are currently reviewing the situation and will have a plan within 30 days. We will be contacting all subscribers shortly.
Thank you for your continued support and patience.
Regards,
Evan Honig
Director of Circulation
ehonig@magnapublishing.com
So I don't know if this means I am out my $25 or if they will be a nice enough of a company to honor my 13 issue subscription. I hope they do decide to honor it, but I am skeptically waiting on the email:(

I was told by the publisher today that subscribers will soon be sent an update and offer via regular mail. The email from our circulation department pasted above is in fact where things stand at the moment.

Is there really a point to magazines like Fox? They can't be making what they used to even ten years ago. The all need to beef up their internet presence and should have done so years ago. It is utterly pathetic the way that they keep giving porn stars columns in hopes that more people will buy their print publications. It is not going to happen. Even Playboy is losing money with their magazine.

Another uninformed opinion. There are no "porn star columns" in FOX. Our focus is on the gonzo industry. We primarily feature exclusive coverage of gonzo features as they are being shot, kind of like the way People or Premiere cover Hollywood product. And we present interesting photography of new porn talent. There is a place for print in this industry, just like there is a place for People in mainstream. It's about TALENT and PRODUCT PROMOTION. Just because you might not want to read People doesn't mean they should pack up and shut down. Maybe it is the porn mags that only attempt to provide a cheap wack, without adapting into "entertainment coverage," that will or should eventually fall by the wayside. The Moody Blues, for example, continue to plod on without making money either, so I hope you are not a fan.

^I understand your position, and there's not much I can say other than that Magna is an extremely stable company. FOX's sales figures have always been excellent, even given the dip in the market, so we won't be going anywhere. Maybe the offer you will receive soon will be amenable.

I don't think it matters what a porn magazine features. They are still trumped by porn sites like Brazzers, XFanz, etc, that update several times a week, while a magazine only comes out month. There is a reason why photographers cannot sell photos to adult magazines for the high prices once commanded over a decade ago and it is because of the Internet. The magazines are hurting and there is very little that can be done, beyond shifting their base of operation from paper to Internet.

Trumped in what sense? In the way radio trumped print? Film trumped radio? Television trumped all three?
The web trumps them all, I guess, but media survive by ADAPTING. It's a rather limited argument to say that, "Well, Brazzers updates daily so stop printing magazines!" As I said before, we are striving to provide information and entertainment in a way Brazzers, for example, doesn't. Even if it's about the lowest common denominator--jerking off--it is quite obvious that many still enjoy doing that to photographs.
Some will of course abandon print in the way they stopped listening to music on AM radio, but it will survive for those with specialized interests and needs. At least until it is no longer possible or necessary to make paper, at which point the medium will transfer to portable digital media. Take a look at your local newsstand: there are more magazines being published today in all genres than ever before! That seems to indicate that the world has yet to abandon print for the Web.

Plus IMHO opinion nothing beats the quality of a full glossy page. Most importantly if it is a Holly or Suze Randell layout of one of my favorite stars. That is why I used to subscribe to FOX.

I gotta agree. just because a lot of sites update daily doesn't mean print is dead, example: Horror Hound is my new favorite Horror magazine, of course sites are going to beat it to breaking fresh stories but not only is horror hound geared to netheads but goes out of the way to give you stuff you are not going to see in your usual current event sites. It almost as though they are saying "we know you are online, we're plugged in too. A) here is some more meat on the bone, b.) here is some stuff you won't find as a headline and c.) here is some stuff on the net you may wanna check out."
so it can be done.

Awww thanks! We stopped sending shoots to Fox and Gallery because they stopped paying, but now that they are under the Magna umbrella we're willing to contribute again.

I used to like porno mags back in the good old days, before I had a massive video collection. I picked up a Fox and a bunch of other mags recently just to see what they were like, and I liked the Fox. It was the issue with Rebeca Linares on the front. I was disappointed to hear that it was having trouble fulfilling subscriptions. Subscriptions advertised were pretty cheap for porno. If the situation were better I might consider getting one. Too bad.
I was surprised that the size and number of pictorials are not much greater than they were 10 years ago, the last time I bought porno mags. I would like it if the pictorials were considerably longer.

First off, its a SHITTY Offer.
****UPDATE****
I received the letter in the mail today from "Anna Craven".
"The previous publisher of FOX, who you subcribed with went bankrupt. Unfortunately, we are unable to fulfill these subscriptions."
Translated: FUCK YOU! Not our problem, why should we waste our money giving you free issues and postage. Instead we will be more than happy to fuck you harder because the letter continues:
"Subscribe for one year at the enormously discounted price of $34.95."
Fox cost $25-$30 a year so this is not a discount but a price increase. And don't tell me that the next Fox won't be shitting out postcards with a much lower introductory rate. Thanks for thinking me a rube.
OH by the way I got the same letter almost word for word for Gallery. I used to be a huge supporter of print. Now I think MAGNA Publishing can send over "Anna Craven" to suck my dick. I hope Fox, Gallery and every other MAGNA title goes out of business.

Who actually buys mags nowadays anyway they are costly and a static page is no competition to a in motion DVD of your favorite gal. They will soon got he way of the DoDo imo.

I received the letter too and I must also say that this is a crappy offer. I understand that Magna may not can fulfill all of Fox's prior obligations, but they could at least send us a better offer than this one. The thing that pisses me off the most is I subscribed and never received a single issue, now they want me to pay more than I originally paid to receive the mags I already paid for once! Not only will this not happen, but I won't be picking up any more issues of Fox. Thanks Magna for the shitty deal

You are right, inmates still need print. Penthouse is horseshit every month the Pet is a popular porn star. I can almost guess who will be next within a month or so.

First and foremost Phatbasey I feel your pain you have been screwed over with out a doubt. That being said I like this Fox Magazine guy.
I have not purchased printed porn for years I think the last thing I purchased was an issue of Pirate magazine like 6 years ago. However I think I'm gonna pick up an issue of Fox for curiosities sake.

I can understand why a former subscriber might not be pleased with this offer and I'm moving forward assuming I have to win over new readers. That said, it IS a huge discount over newsstand prices. The magazine is now $11.99 per issue, and is published 13 times per year. That's $155.87 if purchased on newsstands over the course of a year. The subs at the old company were $25 per year, basically two newsstand issues. It is certainly wiser to subscribe but, as I believe I posted here before, risk always comes with heavily discounted magazine subscriptions. I've eaten many subscriptions over the years and, yes, it pisses me the fuck off--but it's a fractional, minor loss in context. When you take that into consideration, the offer isn't so bad. But again, I get it, and I'm sorry to have lost you guys.

The Penthouse cover models are now being photoshopped even more than those in Playboy. And I don't understand why. I need the cover headline to figure out who in hell they are.

Penthouse hasn't been the same since they got rid of Nick Tosches and Robert Palmer. It's just a placeholder now.
Fox, however, is very fucking funny to read. Ironically, many only get it for the tranny ads in the back ...

Well, yeah .. maybe Fox NEEDS to change their friggin' name after screwing over tons of customers. If you get raped by "Mr. Bill" and the very least ... the next time you receive a phone call or someone knocks at your door ... and you ask "Who's there?". And the answer is "Mr. Bill" ... somebody may get "squished"!!!! Ooh, no ... oh no!!!!!

I haven't even so much as looked at a porn mag in over a decade. I used to get a complimentary subscription to them all back when I worked at Pleasure Productions in the 90's. I wonder what the approximate circulation is for a mag like Fox nowadays?

Coming out of bankruptcy. Some publisher using the name. Or she means the website.
