It isn't just that the celebrity is having sex or that it is being recorded, but that we are not meant to be seeing it (which opposes a more professionally done sort of sexual recording) and it was illegally/unknowingly/etc leaked. Also a problem is that if a mainstream star lasts until they are "old and haggard", then they do not need any help generating publicity. They just do not last that long. Clint Eastwood does not need a sex tape to boost the publicity of his newest movie. Many of the modern celebrities, especially when they come from music, have such a short shelf-life that that whole nostalgic sex tape idea would not work. That all being said I still would love to see some nice treatment of some of today's stars (like Amanda Bynes, Angelina Jolie, Brittany Murphy, Christina Aguilera, Hilary Duff, Jessica Alba, Mandy Moore, Michelle Branch (a fav of mine), Scarlett Johansson, and such).
Edit: I think this idea (and even the professionally done type of videos) would work better for the new-era of internet cock-teases (InBedWithFaith.com, ChristinaModel.com, etc).
