This "girl loses weight because evil fans annoy her" explanation I think is rather white knight gibberish. Looking back at my faves of the last years, 80% of these girls have lost weight during their careers. Some of them massively. Mean tweets are probably rarely the reason.
^ Think you're right. Is probably more about having an eye on what producers are wanting in terms of body shape for scenes. Gabbie, of all people, surely has far more commenting on her fantastic looks than any 'critics'.
The weight of all women fluctuates a lot. Sometimes it is something as simple as what time of the month it is in relation to their menstrual cycle and/or the type of birth control they are or aren't using. It could also be related to levels of stress, having time to exercise or not, etc. There are a whole bunch of reasons.

Agreed, and since we're throwing out names the most perfect tits I ever saw belong to Marina Visconti. She wasn't around a super long time and for some reason was never extremely popular, but if I ever had to design the perfect woman in a laboratory I'd be using her boobs.
Personally, there are many factors for me when rating/ranking boobs; size and shape of the breasts themselves, size and shape of the areolas and nipples, proportion of the nipples to the areolas and of the areolas to the breasts. Like, big breasts with small areolas and small nipples look weird to me, and there's also a point where things get cartoonishly big (Gabbie is just under that IMO), and I will 98/100 prefer small naturals to large fakes. I suspect all guys have slightly different tastes and priorities on the issue though.

Both responses here are precisely why I had more of an issue with the poster's previous statement of her being "least inspired". When it comes to boobs, 100 different responders to this thread will probably name 90 different girls, and there's nothing wrong with that. Yeah I definitely didn't agree with that either. Gabbie may not be the most electric performer ever, but there have been plenty of girls that are far more boring. But I don't see the advantage in a competition when you lose a lot of weight. Many men like curves. Many men like breasts. Many men like butts. I would even say that the majority of men like women who look like women....and not like a skeleton. And I also think that many girls know that they are being loved the way they look. Of course I also have a theory for weight loss with many girls.

She's been making statements like this on reddit since day 1. I can't tell if it's a tactic of some sort, if it's totally legit, or if she just posts to reddit every random thought and isn't really serious.

Why makes you think it has anything do with you or what you like? Women don't get dressed to go out to attract men, they get dressed up to announce their presence to other women. The competition is with other girls and the number of bookings available. If 10-20 lbs makes all the difference between shooting 3 times a week and once every 2 weeks, I'd be dropping deuces left and right.

You really have no idea what you're talking about. Again, it's not about you or what society thinks. As far as "Empirical values," huh? What does that, whatever you're referring to, have anything to do with a performer losing weight?
As I mentioned earlier, women do things to impress other women, they aren't doing it for men. (Not my theory, but quoted from women all over the place) Thus, if 2 women are on set, and one has 20 lbs on the other, and comments about how many scenes they've shot over a period of time, topics such as; weight, boob jobs, anal, I/R, are all going to come up. If you don't think so, you've never been around a bunch of women chatting. Other than substance abuse issues resulting in weight loss, if a performer drops lbs, it probably won't be because of a guy.
Again, all of your "empirical values" and "reading from our society" talk is hardly going to register with a younger female doing porn who barely made it through high school. (Disclaimer, making a broad generalization based on the backgrounds presented in all the interviews and not a description of Gabbie)

InstantClassic, I can think of a girl who received a hugh benefit from weight loss: Jillian Janson. When she first started at age 18 she was a curvy, chubby girl. She didn't become a superstar until she lost 25 lbs and became a svelte goddess. I can't think of any girls who hurt themselves by losing weight and getting in better shape.
In contrast, many girls hurt themselves by gaining weight (eg, Maddy O'Reilly). Sometimes a girl can change her look and receive a benefit from that (eg, Gia Paige, a girl who went from a skinny rail to a curvy girl with a big ass), but the girl probably does so by losing many fans who liked her original, pre-weight gain look.
I don't think Gabbie Carter hurts herself at all by staying fit, in shape and skinny. She played golf her whole life and has a tall, thin build suitable for the sport. Being a little lean is just fine.

^I can think of Noelle Easton, right away, who lost much of her initial appeal following a weight loss that remained a bit mysterious... We all wish her well, but I know it remains one of the big disappointments of the decade.
I feared Codi Vore could've been headed this way, but she's doing just fine (and if she'd continued to drop, it would've been OK too; she can do what she wants). Also thinking of Kendra S., but she regained a lot of what made her shine early on, in my opinion. There are probably many others you could think of.
This is getting off-topic, but I can't say a thing about Gabbie yet. We just haven't seen her perform under her current looks and she still looks good and like herself.

Define 'disappeared', because by any definition, a performer who has been credited with close to 500 scenes (and has probably shot more uncredited ones, yes, even IAFD misses a few) has not gone anywhere. Now, if by losing weight she has disappeared to you, then hey, that's your loss...

IMO, Noelle Easton's loss of appeal had nothing to do with her weight loss (when did she lose weight? after no one would book her?). It had everything to do with her refusal to up her game to Anal/DP, etc. Only the most beautiful girls with broad appeal can have long careers doing GG only or a mix of GG/BG, and Noelle wasn't one of them.
Big, voluptuous girls like Noelle appeal to some, but it's a niche. A tall, thin, athletic girl like Gabbie Carter, in contrast, has a huge mainstream audience and the broadest possible appeal, which is higher than just about any girl in porn right now. In this regard, she's a little like Lana Rhoades, who has 1.3 billion views on PH last time I checked. Gabbie's view numbers will likely go through the roof if she ever becomes an Anal/DP Queen like Lana R. did.

Another girl who received a huge benefit from a big weight loss: Kendra Spade. When she first applied to Spiegler, he wouldn't take her. Told her to lose 25 pounds and he'd reconsider. She did, he welcomed her and she's now a big star. I defer to Spiegler's wisdom. He's a legendary agent in the industry and obviously knows "skinny" is more appealing/sells better than "voluptuous" (i.e., fat).
Kyler Quinn is probably the skinniest girl in porn today (not an ounce of body fat on this girl). Does anyone complain about her being too thin? Of course not. Why? Because everyone is used to seeing her as she is.
Is Gabbie now skinnier than Kyler? Obviously not. If Gabbie has lost weight, that's not an issue unless she becomes anorexic, and I've seen no evidence she has this disease. Until someone has such evidence, let's please move on to another Gabbie related topic.
I think it's important to note that though Gabbie technically lost weight, in practice she is basically back to where she was before she gained weight. So same-same, but different, but still the same.
@Edgar Alan Poe: I find your comments on weight uncalled for. Maddy O'Reilly looks better now than when she was skinny. Jillian Janson looked better when she first started. My suspicions about the kind of person Spiegler is have been confirmed by what you said. Girls and young women become anorexic because of comments like yours. And what about Doris Ivy/Gina Gerson? A beautiful girl, but you can see her bones, which just makes me sad that she thinks she has to look like that to be attractive. Yes, being overweight can lead to health issues, but this is not the case with any of the performers you mentioned. Lexi Belle got absolutely ripped apart for putting on weight in a 2017 scene for Girlsway, but I thought she looked amazing!
