Hey all, Just flicking through the reviews and noticed the lack of GBG reveiws. Why is this? Is this series not that popular, how do sales from this series rate against other lines from Anabolic.......from what ive seen (only 2) they are excellent features and are worth the money, so i would have assumed sales would be rather good (and there would be ample reveiws). Is there many of you out there with titles from this series? And if so would you consider reveiwing them? I must say GBG 34 (i think thats the latest one???) looks damn good!
I don't think Anabolic is that liberal with sending out screeners. I requested them once, and my e-mail was totally ignored. That may be one factor.
I still review some movies I rent, but I rent less now, and end up spending most of my reviewing time trying to go through by backlog of screeners. I also have tons of movies I purchased, and never had time to review. :-(
There is plenty of reviews for the Gangbang Girls series from Anabolic you just have to look at the right place: iafd.com (one or more reviews for almost all, if not all the GBG videos ever made)
That's true... but many of those reviews are for the video versions only. Still useful for content of the sex scenes, but there will be no discussion about the digital transfer, extras etc.
JZA, I think the biggest reason you don't see them around here is I don't think Anabolic sends Steph screeners (who then sends them out to many of the reviewers here). Personally, I'd love to take a look at more of what Anabolic has to offer, but I have a decent sized stack of screeners here and screeners almost always get first priority. Yes, I review some of the ones I buy myself also, but in my line of thought, if a studio cares enough to support Adult DVD Talk by sending their DVDs for review, I'll write a review of their stuff before I'll review something from somebody who doesn't really care to support Adult DVD Talk. That's why although I like a lot of what I've seen from companies like Anabolic, Digital Playground, Sin City, and JKP, I rarely review their DVDs.
That said, I do have a couple of the GBG DVDs and I'll move one of them up in the lineup since you asked (although it'll be a little while since I'm really busy right now).

Yep. I bought every Diabolic title I own, and the one Anabolic. Screeners wouldn't make me like them any more, and it certainly wouldn't guarantee a favorable review, but when a studio sends out screeners, they usually get priority.

Same here, I will review them, but they are not a high priority. Since I have to buy all of them, they aren't high on my list of reviews. Because I have a stack of about 30 screeners that will get reviewed, in time. In fact this weekend I've been doing nothing but watching and reviewing porn.
If any reps over at Ana/Diabolic decide to send out screeners, I'd gladly put them on top of my list to review.
I currently own 11 Ana/Diabolic DVDs, reviewed 5, borrowed one from VictoriO, so I reviewed only 4 that I own. I would review 'em all and more, but I can't put priority on them, and as much as I love porn, it costs money to buy it, and that's the one thing I'm not made of.
I spend about $100 or more on porn a month, sometimes $200, I'm not gonna buy a lot of their product when I have so many others that I want to buy (EVIL ANGEL) to review. And if I do buy their DVDs, they don't get high priority.
Oh yeah, while I have gotten a few of Evil Angel DVDs as screeners, I've bought 95% of what I own from that studio.
I see a lot of Diabolic titles that I want, but the truth is, I only have so much money that I buy porn with. If I had a larger amount of "disposable" income, I'd do nothing but buy porn. But that's not the case.
I never said I don't buy my own. Like BIGmike, I spend roughly $100 a month, and sometimes much more, on porn. Each review I write takes at least an hour (which is extremely rare), and normally takes around two hours to write. If we're lucky, we get screeners, and nobody here that I know of gets paid to write reviews. It's not that I'm whining about not getting enough free porn. I have plenty of porn here. The point is that of reciprocation.
I'll use Evil Angel and Wicked as examples here, just because Crawdaddie and Tricia have been so supportive towards Adult DVD Talk for so long (and there are plenty of other studios who have been absolutely wonderful in their support of Adult DVD Talk). When I write a review of a DVD from Evil Angel or Wicked I'm throwing them some support by giving their product attention. My review also goes to making Adult DVD Talk a stronger site. When Evil Angel and Wicked sends screeners to Adult DVD Talk, they're doing a small part towards making Adult DVD Talk a stronger site and also showing Adult DVD Talk's reviewers a little respect because they're willing to donate their product without any guarantee of a good review. Plenty of studios don't show that support or respect.
For those who read the reviews, put yourself in the reviewer's place. You're going to spend at least an hour writing a review, and know that your work is going to give the studio who put out that DVD a little attention. Which studio are you going to feel like giving your time to, the one that shows you and the site where you place the reviews some support or respect, or the one that doesn't really give you the time of day?
Hey for all you reviewers with too much porn to review and not enough time I will gladly donate myself to the cause of helping get the consumer better educated on what he or she might want to purchase in regards to adult entertainment,lol. Seriously I think the guys and girls do a fabulous job of reviewing porn for all of us and it would be great if more Anabolic/ Diabolic titles were reviewed especially the GBG titles. I would put this opinion forth that if you have seen a recent GBG title on vhs or dvd then you pretty much know what to expect in a given film. Now having said that there are occasional differences which a review might help you decide on purchasing a title or not. The GBG series is pretty consistent, though, in its content as are other series like Down the Hatch, A Perverted Point of View, and GBG Auditions. I think the main point for someone who has seen a series and has a working framework to go on then it comes down to what starlet is in the film and whether or not she is doing the scene herself or is in the 2 girl gangbang. I would say that the later volumes of the Gangbang Girl have put more of an emphasis on swallowing rather than the facial-- there are still plenty of those but usually the cum gets put into the mouth someway and the girl will swallow. As for titles in the series I have only one #28 which features Kristina Black so I will try and do a review for it soon and also one for Gangbang Auditons 8 with the Canadian trio of Shyla, Judy Star, and Kimberly.

Since Anabolic/Diabolic do not have simultaneous releases for DVD and video, I end up getting the video first for most of their titles. I have reviewed a few of Diabolic videos but rarely review Anabolic's Gangbang girl series because I dislike the camerawork and lack of direction in the directing. I rarely write negative reviews. My opinion of all of the recent Gangbang girls is, could have been fantastic with: 1) the release the title within 4 months of shooting the tape instead of waiting until the impact of talents doing novel things is gone, 2) direct more and less hands-off directing, 3) shoot the tape with a better sense of action and avoid the effect of the gangbang was so good, that the camera could not capture the action, and 4) make sure that there are confirmation shots. Points 3 and 4 are major problems running through the gbg series. Who cares if the gangbang is so hot that the cameraman had a hard time capturing the action? If it is not captured, it is useless to the viewer. Also the lack of confirmation shots leaves a deep dissatisfaction with the products.
I think one major point we have just established here is Ana/Diabolic could be making a whole lot more sales if they released DVDs with there videos, and sent out some screeners to these reviewers- I know for a fact there are a lot of guys who like to read a review before they buy and by not sending out freebees its going to seriously restrict reveiws. Its kind of funny that they dont do this as most of their product is great! Its called spending money to make money. I know i personally have avoided alot of GBG titles and instead bought Evil Angel etc, because of the unknown factor which has come about with the lack of reviews. A note to all reviewers, I think you all do a wonderful job in reviewing DVDs, I know before I purchase any porn I reasearch all titles using ADT and other similar sites. I am going to start reveiwing more titles to help grow our review list.
well for those who care I just posted a review of WORLD SEX TOUR #26 to rame. I mostly write quick reviews of the stuff that Pierre Woodman makes for Hustler as soon as they are released but after him, Anabolic is usually my second choice when I buy porn. (of course as long as euro-babes and Fresh Canadians are in the cast) I have the DVDs of Un-Natural Sex #6 and Gangbang Girl #31 and will try to write the reviews for rame the next few days.
I used to get Anabolic/Diabolic DVDs and reviewed every title they sent me either personally or with another staff writer for DVDPornReviews.com However, I haven't seen a DVD from them in about six months so I have fallen way behind on that end. I think I've even missed the last two on VHS.
The biggest problem when I was getting them was that at least 4 reviewers wanted to do every title. We were all fighting over them.
I simply don't like gangbangs, and I would end up being highly critical of every GB movie I tried to review, if I ever did try. So I don't watch them, and naturally, don't review them either.
Well I just submitted a review of Gangbang Girl 28 to Steph so hopefully it will be up by tomorrow. I enjoyed the title but it could have been so much better. Kristina Black was in this volume and she was in the solo girl scene so my hopes were high. Alas the scene was shot outside in bright sunlight which took away from the scene for me. It would have been so much better had it been shot indoors. Also no anal for Kristina but I knew that beforehand, we do get some nice double pussy penetration and even some rimming from Kristina. The other scene features Alana Evans along with Molly Rome. I had already seen Alana so I knew she would be good but this was my first exposure to Molly and I liked her innocent look but man was she anything but innocent in this scene. All in all a good entry into the series but could have been so much better had Kristina's scene been shot indoors and she would have done anal. The popshots in Kristina's scene were ok but indoors we could have seen them easier. In the other scene Molly seemed to get the better pops on her face and in her mouth so Alana had to come over and swap with Molly and sloopy kiss her in order to get the amount of cum she was asking for,lol. So hopefully this will help in the requested reviews for some Gangbang Girl titles.
Manolo, the question was asked, why aren't there more reviews of Gangbang Girl movies? As someone who writes many reviews, I pointed out why none of the ones I write invovle this series. That question is the point of this thread, not the particulars of screeners.
