Hi guys,

This is gonna be a wierd one....my mate is straight and wants to start shooting gay porn. Sounds mad? ..lol...it certainly is. Well, he asked me to write in here and ask the audience what you guys want to see in a gay scene? I mean I have no clue myself so please share your ideas and let me know what would make a scene really hot and would turn gay ppl on.

Can anyone help me?

Thanx!

You know, I've been in a lot of discussions (even in this forum, I believe) about straight guys being in gay porn but I'm not sure I've ever heard much about straight people actually being behind the camera and shooting gay porn. I suspect it is not very common but I really do not know

I know what I would say if asked what I want straight guys to act like when they are gay-for-pay, but a director? I'm just not sure what to say. First, I'd have him make sure he was using genuinely gay stars 'cause a straight director using gay-for-pay guys would seem like an odds on favorite for disaster.

Generally, what people want to see is as varied as the gay community, which is to say, extremely varied. I'd go into more specifics but I'd like to hear what some others say first.

Yes I see what you mean...actually all the performers are gay. The problem is; even though they are gay performers; that the scenes not always happen to be good....not showing the real heat etc...do you know what I mean? Also, a director should understand how to shoot something in order to give the best entertainment on screen. He should know what to shoot, how to shoot it etc. And something that turns you on in a straight scene may not have the same effect in a gay movie. Am I right?

I know it's all a bit weird and that's why I have posted this message. I hope you guys will share your views and find some guidance.

cheers,

DB

One thing you might want to do is check out the following movies:

Making it ... with Kristen Bjorn
The Agony of the Exstacy

Both are full length, behind the scenes documentaries showing one of the masters of current gay porn, Kristen Bjorn at work.

There's a lot of interviews there that probably won't help you, but you will see how he sets up shots, lighting techniques and other things that will no doubt help someone new to directing porn.

As for generating heat on screen, that's a tough one. You can't just throw 2 gay guys together and expect fireworks. If the guys don't click, that will be obvious in the scene. Maybe a good way to spark things up would be not to cut right to the sex? Start out with the guys fully dressed, and have then do a lot of kissing. Let them slowly undress each other... there's no need to send someone's mouth directly to the penis. Let their hands roam all over each other's bodies first. You want to sort of tease the audience, and make them really really want to see what's going to happen next. If you start out with the guys naked, and someone sucking cock, you lose that whole anticipation edge.
