In the public room girls would stay clothed (i think they had to), and entice you into a a private session for like a buck a minute or something. Seems like the business model is totally different now. it like a crowd funded thing now, tip goals, they can do whatever they want now in the public room, including full on sex. Some just sit in front of the camera and talk, then pull out a dildo and fuck themselves. Or there will be a tip goal, and if the crowd hits the tip goal, she will do it. Many do custom videos, sell their panties, etc. Is a whole business model. I saw references on this board about cam sites, but i am surprised there inst a bigger following on here for it (similar to the lack of interest for VR on here). Then there are some porn stars like "eliza jane" who do it. Fascinating to see her awesome personality, get to "know her" (in the most superficial sense, but still), then watch her videos, or see her sucking her live in boyfriends cock. Just seems more intimate than real porn. Of course, most of the cam girls are horrible (not necessarily cause of their looks, just not interesting to watch for more then 10 minutes). any other porn stars the cam ? I read here Tori black does it. I would think it would be more common. If Lana Rhoades did it it would break internet [Link] |

That means the cam models don't get paid per hour but rather by the amount of "tips" they make- rather like a strip club actually. The "bigger" name a girl has in porn, usually the more traffic she'll attract into her cam room which translates into more tips. Annabelle peaks is one such example of a big name girl who does porn and cams successfully. Those who make thier living solely as cam girls and don't do porn have to work very very hard to be successful at it. This means that they're sitting in front of the computer screen for 8-10 hours a day engaging thier audience and getting fans into privates which pay per minute. Basically they treat it like a full time job. When we get into porn, we're told to have multiple streams of revenue. This includes camming. However the main problem is that new girls haven't built up enough of a following yet to earn a lot of money doing this. We have to rely on our scenes to come out and our fan base to grow from our porn rather than building up a fan base from camming. The time it takes to be successful at camming varies but it definitely takes dedication- more than just going online for an hour three times a week. As I mentioned in the first sentence, personality is also important. No one wants a girl just sitting there on her phone doing nothing, or looking bored. No one wants a girl who is rude and standoffish on cam either. It's all about marketing and branding. The better you market and brand yourself on multiple platforms- personal website, Clips 4 Sale, ManyVids, twitter, instagram, Facebook as well as whatever cam platform you use, the more successful you'll be! Girls should always try to link back to thier websites whenever possible and have an amazing wishlist for fans to buy items for them to wear on cam as well! I know that there is more hardcore stuff but I think those are the exceptions rather than the rule. 2-It's obscenely expensive and it's even more so when you compare it to anything else in porn. Any system where you pay upwards of 2$ per minute (I'm aware that the amount if low ball) means that you will use up more money in 30 minutes than you would by joining almost any porn site. That's also not counting tipping. 3-Unless you luck in and the model has accumulated enough customers willing to pay for more than you might have to wait a while before there is more than just chit chat happening. I know you can use tipping to accelerate the process but see reason #2 on cost. That means that you may have to deal with a lot of whining from the model before she is happy and willing to do more than just talk (and maybe strip). 4-It is all POV with a fixed camera so obviously you don't get to zoom in or out, you won't get any other view than that static camera view and the overall resolution of some cameras leaves a lot to be desired. 5-Lighting can be a huge problem because not everyone knows what they are doing or can afford to buy better lighting. 6-Porn performers complain that there is too much competition in the porn industry and that's an industry with a fairly limited amount of performers but that's nothing compared to camming where anybody can do this from their own home. |
