There have already been discussions in various threads about changes to major sites and how they charge for specific things (Here for example). But I wanted to make a general PSA for people like myself who like to collect scenes from the archives of the major studio sites (Brazzers, Evil Angel, etc.). For anyone who is familiar with Kink.com but not a subscriber: They rolled out a pretty significant change to their site a few days ago, which basically removed the ability of members to download scenes. The new interface is streaming only, and then if you want to download the specific scene, you must purchase it individually then download. This caught everyone by surprise, since there was no advanced warning or announcement. Basically people just logged onto the site and randomly discovered what had happened.

I mention this because it'd indicative of two trends occurring in the industry:

1) More and more sites are beginning to either introduce a paid tier for downloads, or just remove downloading altogether and requiring people to purchase individual a la carte scenes in addition to the monthly subscription cost. This shouldn't come as a huge shock, when you consider that mainstream streaming platforms like Netflix have already gotten people accustomed to consuming video via stream. And Onlyfans has essentially juiced that trend within the adult industry.

2) Sites pulling entire sections of their archives off the platform. The biggest offender is Brazzers & RealityKings (Both Mindgeek outlets), where they have regularly pulled massive parts of the archive without any warning. However, other sites have begun following suit (Girlfriends Films does this as well). What they end up doing is either recycling those scenes months or years down the road as 'new' scenes to pad out content, or packaging them into individual films that you'll have to buy.

Both of these trends amount to the same thing: Access to site catalogues is shrinking and getting more costly, depending upon the site. Even if you're a person who's willing to pay significantly more, there's no guarantee that the scenes you like won't randomly be pulled offline. If you're a person like me who likes to peruse & download scenes from the legacy-studio sites, you'll need to start adjusting to this new trend. My recommendation would be to go buy a couple of large-capacity external hard drives and start collecting any of the content that even remotely interests you. Once scenes are yanked from the site's archives, there's no telling if or when it will ever be available again.
