First of all, we don't need no stinking questions!!
No one cares: "how old were you when you first had sex?" "Who was it with?" "Did it hurt?????" "How did you get in the business? "Does your family know?" AND the all-time dumbest question in the history of porn interviews--"What are you going to do for us today?," as if the lady being interviewed backstage is some kind of circus performer.
Look, take the DAMN interviewer away, hand the microphone to the lady, or ladies, in front of the camera and then film her, or them, talking casually about what THEY want to tell we porn patrons regarding themselves, and their experiences in the business.
Far too many times, imho, the inept interviewer will ask and demand answers to "prying" extremely sensitive questions which NO ONE has the right to know, and the embarrassment of the porn star being questioned is painfully evident.
Thus, I can count very very few truly entertaining and interesting BTS "Q and A's"--but probably the BEST I've seen was in "Bases Loaded' (a Hell of a gonzo flick, btw) orchestrated by the extremely intelligent Lisa Ann, with a very interesting Katja Kassin, in which the two ladies discussed the "ups and downs" of being a porn star, AND in a most enlightening exchange.
Of course, being one of a huge, and ever-growing, group of men who constantly search (fruitlessly, I might add) for scenes of female porn stars lighting up and smoking cigarettes, BTS interview segments offer such a GREAT opportunity for us to see our various "fantasy women" smoking their brand of cigarettes in the "natural, real life settings, which our "smokerhood" always finds so extremely erotic--but NADA!, even that, so easy to incorporate scenario, rarely enters the director or BTS presenter's mind.
INSTEAD, we are "treated," and I use the word with the utmost distain, to scene after scene of male bonding or "grab ass." and if its an Eric Everhard production, you can always count on some member of his stage crew, either "mooning," for the camera, giving we viewers the "finger," or believe it or not, what has happened in TWO EE flicks I've seen, "licking" the camera lens, and making the picture so distorted that it was impossible to watch the rest of the BTS activities.
Now, in addition to sexy women smoking their cigarettes, WHAT I really would like to see in the BTS, is the production element of the film itself--showing the film location, the crew setting up, the cast arriving and preparing for their scenes the director putting together the scenes, and ESPECIALLY the pitfalls and frustration, which EVERY production goes through, be it feature film or gonzo-- albeit, much less in gonzo.
In other words, the "nuts and bolts" of the particular production though a sort of day-by-day presentation.
Harmony, a UK Film Company, imho, is probably the BEST at this type of BTS work, crafting with great detail the true picture of just what is involved in its stylish, fetish style productions, complete with highly erotic stage attire and sets, and BEST of all, Harmony does it without interviews and with very limited dialogue--letting the camera do the talking, a technique 90% of America's porn director's and producers have yet to discover.
Sadly, however, if we smoke fetishist, are to see any of Harmony's extremely sexy female performers smoking cigarettes, we must go on a virtual "Safari," both in the BTS and main context of their productions--again, ideally and thematically "perfect" to showcase lots of erotic female cigarette smoking scenarios, but NADA!
Here in the USA, Wicked Pictures, once upon a time, presented highly entertaining and interesting BTS segments
(rarely women seen smoking cigarettes, of course) but for some reason, even Wicked has significantly reduced its energy level for BTS segments and often, doesn't even offer them anymore---which is odd to me since Wicked has, by far, the very best team of directors in the adult film industry, imho.
I guess then, what it all boils down to, is that EVERY adult film company wants to make the "quickest buck" possible nowadays, with the least amount of energy, and as a result, BTS segments have become one of the real casualties of that philosophy, which is why we porn patrons, who enjoy well done BTS segments, as well as those of us who LOVE to see a lovely lady's luscious lips--a little onamata-- wrapped around a loooong all-white cigarette (and subliminally, our "whoopies,)" are left instead with "mere whispers" of what could, and SHOULD be!

For Wicked, I always liked the BTS if it was by Mark Stone, Red Ezra or some dude who went by "Jef~". I know Red Ezra is gone.
Who's doing 'em now?
