They are quality productions made with care, set in worlds of women with never a male performer to be seen, depicting tender and erotic lovemaking, nearly always toy-free. VT productions might even be a little too polished and ethereal for those who prefer the sweat and grunt of the earthy side of sex, but it doesn't sound like you would fall into that class. His more story driven titles (eg the Pink Velvet trilogy, Unfaithful, Butterfly) in particular have very high production values but his other, more vignette-based movies are well-made too. If you are in the US, Triangle Films will be easier (and cheaper) to get hold of. And they have the American performers you might recognise more than the Euro-girls that make up Viv Thomas's regulars. Production values fall a little short of Viv Thomas' but still meet the "above average" criteria. The scenes are sensual. All in all, an adequate substitute for Viv Thomas but not yet a match. Abby Winters score more for realism than sensuality. They have very natural looking performers and the sex is intimate and believable but not sensual to the degree that Viv Thomas is (in my view). Girlfriends Films offer a wider range of performers than the unaffected young women of Abby Winters and the well-manicured twentysomethings that are the backbone of both Viv Thomas and Triangle productions with more mature women included in the mix and some plainer and more butch performers too. So they score high for bringing more of the natural gamut of women into porn, if that is something that piques your interest. 21Sextury are worth checking out if you want some g/g anal with your sensuality but otherwise any of the suggestions above are better bets.
