I've noticed that a lot of the women that have been mentioned in this thread are real lookers that everyone got excited about when they first hit the scene. Who doesn't want to see the hottest chicks imaginable doing all of those things that they've fantasized about? Then, when these fledgling stars got over their initial "I'm not really sure what I'm doing/Do I have to do that?" phase, we all (or a significant number of us, at least) realized that there was going to be no improvement in their performances and lost a great deal of our interest in seeing them in other movies. This, in combination with their eventual signing with a company as a contract girl, typically spelled the end of their development as performers as far as I'm concerned. The bad boob jobs and soft, hard-core offerings that we're given by their contract holders (read Vivid) don't really help any either.

I guess what I'm fumbling toward saying here is that there is something that is just as true in porn as it is in real life. Sometimes the best looking women (and I assume the best looking men) in the world aren't the best performers (in bed or on camera) and sometimes the ones that you don't really like at first glance improve by leaps and bounds into something glorious. As for me, I'll feel a little sad for those that don't live up to their potential, enjoy those stars who act like they're at least moderately interested in having a good time and truly marvel at those that come into the business like a house on fire and keep the heat going until their stay with us is over.

Then again, most of the women that I'm referring to when I describe the beautiful automatons of the Vivid World are pretty successful, so I could be completely wrong!

These young girl who come in the biz try and give men what they think we want which is goofey looks, and silly talk. I want to see girls come for real. When you think of Hall of fame performers, they are the ones that outlasted the rest. You don't get to be Jeanna Fine, Jewel D'Nyle, Nina Hartley, Chloe and Selena Steele over night. Those are females who in my opinion came on camera quite often.

I read the other day that Lauren Phoenix is 25. She looks so fresh I thought she was 19, but this solves the mystery, you just can't be a true peformer until yourmid 20's.

I agree wholeheartedly with your point. I think I echoed that earlier when I talked about Courtney Devine, Teagan, and Kayla Marie , getting so much ink because they were young and beautiful, before they had a clue what they were doing. (I'm guilty of being in the Kayla Marie mob.)

I gotta differ with you on one small point. There is no way that I ever thought for a second that Lauren Phoenix was a teen, or even early twenties. That would have shocked me. That girl has entirely too much game and too much skillz to be that young and green. Despite how naturally pretty and fresh scrubbed she may look, that girl has been around the block once or twice, and knows what time it is. I'm a grown-assed man and she frightens me with how good she is. 18 and 19 year olds just don't have that.

I'm having a hard time thinking of one who does.

To hear everyone who was involved back in the day, I guess Traci Lords was pretty talented, confident, and self-assured, far beyond her years, before the scandle broke.

I have relatives in Toronto, and in my Navy days I spent quite a bit of time in Vancouver and Victoria. I agree that the Canadian women were more forward and aggressive, as far as going after what they want, than the women in many parts of the United States. In Victoria there were 14 year old females in the bars! Freaked me out.

Given those caveats, here's my off-the-top-of-my-head (ottomh?!) list:

Teagan - While I will agree she is gorgeous (i.e., hot) and very pleasant to look at, I've only seen 1 or 2 scenes that rise to a level of heat matching my expectations. Her scene in WOAD3 is the best one I've seen of her, but I've seen many more that just didn't do it for me. I may be way off on this, but for some reason, it almost always seems like she's in extreme distress during anal scenes - an extreme woodkiller.

Jenna Jameson - Described by many as the "prototypical pornstar". I'm still waiting to see a scene that does anything for me. Most the stuff I've seen bores me to tears. YMMV

Katie Morgan - Cute as a button, and I keep thinking I should be aroused by her scenes, but my cock says otherwise!

Tera Patrick - Looks incredible (at least she did pre-enhancement), esp with a cock in her mouth, but always seems to me like her libido is flatlined.

80-85% of eurobabes - Strongly Agree - SFT got this one just right. I think it's the language-barrier thing. When the actress struggles to repeat what the director is obviously telling her to say, my dick automatically loses a few points on the coefficient-of-stiffness scale.

August - Strongly disagree - For me, her perfect ass basically trumps any other arguments! And she looks so frickin' hot giving head.

Kayla Marie - Disagree - I have a thing for Ms. Marie (again, very subjective), but I've seen several very hot scenes with Kayla.

Alex Devine - Mildly Disagree - While I agree that her work has been inconsistent, I strongly recommend her Bonus Footage scene in New Girls #6. I'm also eagerly awaiting her scene in the upcoming Feeding Frenzy #5

I say ignore this non-sense. I have never Fast Forwarded a scene I've seen you in. Though I have many times with the "so called great" performers. All the screaming and faking is unnecessary. Give me a scene with a female making eye contact, moaning softly, making facial expression in the moment, & speaking clearly and you have a HOT scene to me.

I will say that I've never seen you in a Jules Jordan or Mike John, or Vince Voyeur, or Brandon Iron scene, without all the added scenery, effects, and music that always make me wanna fast forward. This is a personal bias I admit. I just can't watch 99% of stuff from Vivd, Wicked and even most of JKP. Personally, I'd love to see you work with one of these directors. From everything I've seen, you'd be a natural. I realize that the vagaries of contractual obligations and liabilities probably would never allow such "crossover" scenes to take place, but I didn't think it would hurt to ask...

Again - this is all just my opinion. As long as you're happy, just keep on doin' what your doin' and ignore it.

I'm a Hardcore(Gonzo) fan, but at the same time I'm not into the circus act stuff out now.

The way to blow this whole thing up Jenna would be a "Club Jenna Hardcore" division. You could bring Hardcore back to the quality it had in the late 90's early 2000's. The films could be shot Gonzo style, but have "REAL" passionate sex.

Believe me Jenna, I have tried to watch some of your scenes, but it is exactly that big budget, super-high production value approach that just leaves this viewer cold.
Can you recommend a scene or two that is a little more "gonzo-like" - i.e., more POV, less or no music, etc.

People's preferences for particular actors, actresses, niche markets (cumfarts, gangbangs, blowbangs, DP, TP, DVP, DAP, TAP), studios, directors, et al, are almost as varied as snowflakes.
