I know there's a significant risk of this thread degenerating into places it shouldn't go, but, in the hopes that we might be able to keep it civil and informative, I'll start it anyway. Female performers' attitudes toward working with black guys seem to fall into about five categories: -- Those who prefer, or at the least, actively seek out performing with black men. Spring Thomas is a pretty good example; I'm sure there are others. -- Those for whom working with black men appears to be no different from working with white men. That list is too long to even begin. -- Those who work with black men only occasionally, whether it's because of personal preference, occasional economic necessity, or whatever. -- Those who don't work with black men. Please, let's not go there. It's the fifth group that I'm interested in: Those who do one or a few scenes with black guys, but who then eschew such scenes while continuing to churn out a significant number of scenes with others. Two that come readily to mind are Dani Woodward and Lexi Belle. Dani had a prolific career for a couple of years, yet she did only a handful of scenes with black guys -- I can think of maybe three; there may be a couple more. Lexi did one or a few scenes when she was starting out, but I can't recall seeing any in the last several years. I'm sure there are more. It would appear as if there's either an initial decision to do IR that's reversed pretty quickly, or an iinitial decision to do a limited number of IR scenes, probably to helop get a career started, and then pull back. Either way, I 'm curious as to what the mental process is. Before we start speculating, can anyone share any first- or second-hand stories from performers as to what their thoughts are?
Janine Dyanna lauren Chasey lain lexus ashlyn gere janine promised more but never followed through she did plenty of pictorials even when retired that she could have done interracial she really did it to piss her husband off I am convinced she never wanted to do it again

Looking at your third category for a moment, I have found in my research of filmographies that "economic necessity" is hard to support with evidence. There are some very-less-than-glamourous very-less-than-skillful cougs, milfs and grilfs that do absolutely no IR. If it ain't an economic necessity for them, it damn sure can't be for a PYT.
ZAFACE - Teagan. The poster child for what you are describing. Did two interracial scenes at the very outset of her porn career, then her popularity blew up, (not as a result of those two scenes), she became porn's darling, got the big contract, and was on her way. Never to go near a black dick again. BSD
Loads of people give a fuck obviously! and only a few crazy folks are trying to force people to fuck. The OP is at least asking a different question to one that's usallly discussed, even if its likely to go the same way as all the other threads.

I heard something about a boyfriend issue. Boyfriends are the worst thing that ever happened to porn. They convince starlets with beautiful natural tits to get boob jobs (see Natalie Norton) and/or they convince them to stop doing stuff (see Natalie Norton).

pete zaface- you may want to add a sixth category: the ir-limited women. these are women who do interracial scenes with black men, but set limits as to the sex acts they will do with them (no anal, butt licking, etc.) while no such limits are placed on the white men they work with. devon lee would fall into this category. as for the fifth category deauxma would fit here. during her pro-am days she did a number of ir stuff with black guys. but since she went "pro" i have not seen any ir from her. control freak you may or may not have a point about the economics of the third category in this thread. however pete did include personal preference and whatever in the category as well. jayden james falls into this category because until her elegant angel scene in her latest flick the only ir she did on occasion was for her website. i would also put sasha knox into this category. from what i read on her posts she was not getting as much work compared to her earlier time in porn, which was probably the biggest factor in her decision to start doing interracial. that's a lovely blouse you have on. can i take it off?

i've talked to both of them. they didn't try to stop doing ir when they came here. it was simply suggested by their agent that they didn't, if they wanted to expand their fanbase. its all about the money -

early in her career, jayden some ir. also if you pay attention to her blogs, you would know that she dates black men, in her personal life. its about the money fellas.
Actually broke, suit case pimp boyfriends are the worst thing that happened to porn. How some of these chicks can let a broke mope sit home on the couch day after day while she busts her ass (literally) to bring home the money and let "him" call the shots is well beyond my pay grade of understanding. Either that guy has the best dick in the world and is the greatest pimp since The Mack or that broad has the self esteem of a grapefruit and the intelligence of a 1st grader.

As another poster mentioned, Jayden James did IR early. In fact IAFD has 6 IR titles listed and 5 of them were 2007 and 2008, her first two years in the biz. I'd like to bring to your attention pornstar Rubee Tuesday. She didn't start porn until she was 43 in 1999 and had a 10 year career of 138 films. She only did 4 IR, 2 in her first year and the other 2 before she turned 50. She did 18 lezbo. That leaves 116 vanilla b/g joints including several dp's. Many of her titles did not have a mature theme!! And if I must say so myself, she wasn't the least bit attractive.
While I generally don't care for "Why hasn't [Insert chick's name] performed [insert sex act]?" threads, this is something I've always wondered about Lexi Belle. Sorry if I derail your thread by being star specific. Lexi really doesn't post on this board (and I haven't heard her podcast interview), but I've always wondered about this about her. The girl seemed to be willing to perform with almost any partner. She's done Japanese porn, bondage scenes, a scene with a pirate (Brian Pumper), and scenes where she's used a strap-on with a guy. Heck, she's even done TWO scenes with The Minion! She's also adopted various looks and personas through her career. It would almost be fair to call her the David Bowie or Madonna of porn: short-haired brunette, super-skinny waif, luscious blonde, dominatrix chick, barely legal babysitter, emo chick, experienced girlfriend, etc. I've seen five of her IR (black) scenes and she looked uncomfortable in the interview section of two of them (Daddy's Worst Nightmare and I Was Tight Yesterday). This discomfort, IMHO, seemed to stem from the film-maker playing up or asking her to play up the "taboo" nature of IR sex. I couldn't quite tell, but it seemed a little offputting to her. In her other IR scenes where it was played straight (no pun intended), she did put in some great performances like she's done for any other scenes. Frankly, I don't understand why's she's moved away from IR, but wouldn't mind seeing her in a IR scene as a glamorous blonde since she hasn't done that yet.
Not really sure, but I have wondered about it myself for years. I know I have heard about boyfriends/suitcase pimps having issues with it for years. I suspect that is the main one like Rico said. I do think it simply may also come down to them simply doing it for the money or to stay active. Only so many jobs to go around, esecially when your new to the business. My other guess is that it's simply studio pressure to not do them. It's always amazed me at how many contract girls never really seem to be into black males, even more so when it happens after they sign the contract.

Well, if it's like most I/R scenes out there, maybe she didn't want to say all the lame ass, "fuck my white pussy with your big black cock" or "give me you black cum" type of lines.
80% of the girls are just trying to find the most lucrative path in this business. What to do when where and with whom to make the most money as quickly as possible. In the end, most of these women want a guy who fucks only them as they start to age and their looks and body starts to fade. We all need someone. I am sure old age is lonely by yourself. Thinking ahead, maybe some women do not want to be on record fucking endless black studs as this may fuck up a regular Joe.
I think it's a stretch making an example of Rubee Tuesday. She considered herself a fetish-type performer (I read it in an interview) so maybe the IR producers weren't calling her for non-fetish work. Also most of her vids were with the same 'company' TotallyTasteless/Channel69 network which doesn't shoot much IR content. And she did endure a scene with Wesley Pipes which means a lot in my book. Any girl who puts up with his annoying shtick deserves a medal and not criticism. And I consider her an attractive MILF, with nice thick legs and a sort of a mystery/goth edge.

The point of bringing her up is that the "economic necessity" argument centers around the theory that a performer's inabiltiy to get non-IR work compels her to do IR work. If I may quote myself, my inital statement was that this theory is "hard to support with evidence". I might add that girls who do frequent IR are typically in demand for vanilla work. I was very surprised to find that many girls who do not do IR have resumes that often include less vanilla work over longer periods of time than girls who have IR on the resume.

To make it even clearer, because I think you missed the argument: when Julia Ann made her comback and started doing lots of IR, anti-IR people trying to piss IR fans off, said "she's only doing it because she's old and can't find other work". That's why I brought up Rubee Tuesday: Julia Ann doesn't have to do any IR. And Dyanna Lauren, who is 4 years older than Julia Ann, has made a comeback and isn't doing any IR so far, she only did it when she was young.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression Tori Black was dating a black guy in the industry awhile ago (and may still be)? I thought she actually liked black guys, you know Tori BLACK being her performer name?!

Obviously agents care. They are still advising girls not to do it out of a belief that large segments of the population care too. Go over to "star crossed" and you will find Clayra Beau's thread--she's a recent addition to this forum. She was advised no to do IR on the basis that it will hurt her career in the long run. She is doing it anyway. And most of the popular girls are doing it anyway and getting more popular.
Exactly, people need to make up their mind. If American fans are really so racist that they cannot tolerate black pornstars occasionally fucking the top starlets then how are the likes of Jenna Haze, Tori Black, Lisa Ann, Shyla Stylez etc. able to stay popular? I'm also kinda shocked & confused by how stopping allows you to build a fan base that would have otherwise shunned you, that's kinda weird to me, it's not like you can hide that you've done IR. Obviously if they don't wanna do it then they shouldn't but someone telling you it'll fuck up your career, really is there any truth to that to anymore? Cause looking around it kinda seems like the girl who do it are no less popular than the girls that do.
