I don't find the word either arousing or too offensive. As angryassdrummer notes, here in Australia you hear it a lot in a social setting. One of the managers at my white collar workplace uses the term in almost every second sentence.

Spot on right, I only realized this recently. I think it is a difference in cultures and crossing boundaries. Recently I was watching the DVD series "Everest: Beyond the Limit" on an international group of amateur climbers trying to summit Mount Everest. An American from California had extra Oxygen canisters when nearing the summit to try to make the final push to get to the top and at the last camp a British climber teased him asking if he had his "Baby Bottle" with him. A lot of this has to do with where you were raised and what the people around you permit.

I certainly would never use the word cunt to describe a person (except for a few occasions when it is well earned) but as dirty talk it should be more than welcomed. It's just a word and how it's used all depends on the meaning

I totally love it when a girl uses it in a scene. It is not just the word itself, the scene needs to have the aggressive energy to support the word. As some of you have mentioned, cultural differences alter the perception of the word. For example, here is the US, the word typically is a total taboo in social settings except among groups of guys, and even then not so much. Girls will drop it on a rare occassion, usually with serious discust toward whomever they are referencing, and many times they abbreviate it in some way. Perhaps that is why the word is so powerful in scenes. I personally hate saying the word, and hate guys saying the word, but if a women says it...that is just awesome, especially in a scene. With that said, here are a couple of scenes that stick out in memory that use the term. (I much prefer it to be in lesbian scenes, fyi) When the Boyz are away the Girlz Will Play 12 - Britney Foster and a blonde - Britney uses the word liberally throughout the scene, and gets pounded with a strapon to the tune of "fuck my cunt", "pound my cunt", etc... Simply awesome! It automatically conjures the insult form of the word and hence detracts from its sexiness to me. It's almost the same thing as her saying "I'm gonna suck your prick". The word 'prick' automatically conjures the insult.
