What is the current meaning of this expression? I checked a slang dictionary but it gives multiple (unconvincing) meanings. In SWV catalogue the expression is used to define their gay production, while some american aficionados I trade with, associate it to intercourse made through a hole in a screen.
A glory hole is an opening in the partition between two men's room stalls large enough and positioned appropriately for a man to stand with his penis (& balls) exposed through the hole such that another man on the other side of the partition can bestow oral (and/or anal) favors. All other and/or subsequent uses of the phrase derive from this one.
As an aside, glory holes were discovered in the ruins of Pompeii, among other places, so they are not a modern invention.

I used to see them in between video booths at adult book stores. Not being gay, I was never interested in them. Now, if there were a slutty chick waiting on the other side??? A rare occurrence I'm sure, but it probably happens.
An internet friend of mine was part of a informal group of women that made good use of the glory holes at a well known Los Angeles adult book store. Their exploits were well documented on a website they maintained on a blind URL.
I had hoped to do a documentary about the group. But only a very few of them wanted to be "out" and the distance between LA and NYC made the chances of making a profitable film slim to none.
Nature's imperative for women is no different than it is for men; to whit, get out there and fuck! Reproduce the species. All else is artifice constructed to maintain the social order. That being so, that some women might enjoy anonymous fucking shouldn't surprise anyone.

Perhaps they've always been more discreet about it from my vantage point. In the day before I had VHS or DVD, I frequented my local adult video stores often, probably a minimum of twice per week to watch videos. Did this for years. Never once did I notice a chick looking for anonymous sex through a glory hole. Hence, my surprise.

I warn everyone to watch out for these things. When I worked at an adult store in downtown Toronto we used to do evil things to the glory holes that we would find. I have persoally stuck my cigarette into guys assholes. n
Ok, imagine the following situation. There is an ad in the newspaper:
"Glory hole, all men are allowed to participate. On the other side of the wall are three possibilities: 1. beautiful girl 2. man 3. sheep You can't choose nor know. It's a randmon chance."
