Skeeter Kerkove is definitely an example of this - He's posts are long, descriptive, funny, honest and interesting.
Sure, he advertises his own products, not only for financial gain but also to inform the porn aficinados here and because he believes in his projects i.e. he is passionate about what he does. And I'm sure he wants us to get the same satisfaction watching the DVD's as he did making them....lucky fella (also it helps as alot of his porn tastes are pretty much the same as mine).

So many stars get involved in so many different threads, not just regarding the porn industry.
Now, my mindset has definitely changed
. Pornstars and directors don't just come here to advertise their products, which is cool, after all it is a business. But, more importantly, they come here for exactly the same reason as I do....because ADT's a fuckin' great site.

Have you ever noticed that Skeeter spends as much time on other people's threads complimenting their performances, praising their products, and building them up as people.

Hmmm... praising the competition's products??? Maybe Skeeter really does appreciate and love good porn.

Skeeter is a very positive voice in this industry. :)

What I love most about Skeeter though (right after his wicked sense of humor)? He is so good to the girls who work for him; he is so appreciative of females; he really loves girls.

If you aren't into anal creampies, or double anal, or that kind of "harder" stuff - don't lump Skeeter in with the mean guys who just want to degrade girls.... Skeeter likes girls and treats them amazing (which is probably why he gets girls to do things for him in his movies they don't or won't do for anyone else).

FYI - Skeeter showed me some clips from Operation Anal Freedom and it looks great!!! And, check out that cast!

I'll be honest here: I used to really not like Skeeter Kerkove. Why? Well, basically I was going off of gossip and negative things I had read. However, ever since I came here I have just been completely impressed by Skeeter. I just read an article about Quentin Tarantino in which the author basically described him as someone who just can't believe he gets to be a filmmaker for a living. He loves it that much. That is the sense I get from Skeeter. It is extremely hard to gauge how much an adult film star or a director might actually genuinely enjoy or love the art of pornography. You know there are probably pornstars who do not particularly even like porn that much. And I've always had a suspicion that perhaps some directors really wish they were making legitimate films. Of course, if they don't view their pornos as legitimate films than that is there whole problem right there. But I don't know of any other director that just exudes such a zest for his art. Or, as he calls them, his love stories.

As Selena pointed out, he is just as big of a fan of porn as all of us. You know what I just thought of. He's kind of porn's equivalent of the film school filmmaker.

That all being said, I have still yet to see a single one of his films. I've said it before and I'll say it again: the power of the cast compells me. I just have not been turned on enough by his casts to warrant purchasing anything. However, I'll be snatching up his upcoming tape featuring new girl Haley's first anal.

Ps..The two industry guys around here that have impressed me the most with their time spent here and devotion to the fans are Skeeter and Dion. Byron is starting to make his presence felt though.
