Looks like a little bit of controversy regarding her appearance in the DP $10,000 Live Show. August seems to disappear from the set with about 5 minutes to go in the contest. I just watched most of the replay and, to be fair, they kind of jerked the girls around a bit with regard to the timing. A few times, the hostess (I think it was Nikki Benz) announces that they have 4/3/2 minutes to go, and then revises it to go back to five minutes. (The constant squawking of "5 minutes to go!" was pretty annoying.) It was during one of these revisions that I lost track of August, so not sure if she just got fed up with it or if there were other factors (fatigue, etc...). She was a couple of thousand votes behind Eva Lovia at that point, so maybe she just said "fuck it" knowing she couldn't win. Not sure. On a semi-related side note with these contests (Brazzers used to do them sometimes too) I don't really get the Live Voting aspect. I'm sure the producers probably think that the girls having access to the numbers probably encourages them, but it rarely works out that way unless its an extremely close contest (which is almost never). So you end up having one girl a couple of thousand votes ahead and, as a result, nobody is pushing themselves because the winning girl knows she has it wrapped up and the runners-up know there's no way they can catch her, so why bother. Seems like if an actress is going to suddenly try anal or something like that, she's going to do it when there is guaranteed money on the line, not when there is the prospect of maybe winning a share of $10k.
Yeah, I watched the replay and she just disappeared off camera with about 10 minutes left. Nikki goes to get her for the ending and was basically rebuffed. I don't know if August was pissed she wasn't going to win or just exhausted. The selfish porn fan in me doesn't want her to win, because I want to see her as a free agent in a variety of stuff, not just dimly lit glam porn for a few movies a year.
I was kind of disappointed that Keiran hogged her all to himself through the orgy yesterday and she didn't get around to Toni Ribas or Tommy Pistol. On the other hand, it was surprising to see Eva getting all roughed up towards the end. She really seemed to enjoy it more than August did.
She is still in the running, along with Eva Lovia and Alexis Adams. The contest that was held the other night was a Live Show where each of the 3 was paired up with an actor and another actress. There was a $10,000 first prize to the team with the most votes.
August clearly wasn't into it. Eva looked rather tentative at times, but managed to keep a smile glued on to her face for most of the time. There were a couple of instances where the girls were clearly in pain either from being slapped or having a body thrown on top of them. The guys are way too rough. I'm sure it is slightly easier to endure knowing that you have a check for $10k waiting for you, but I wouldn't envy the position that either girl was in --- August had to endure it knowing that she wasn't going to win a nickel and Eva may have had to tolerate things she wasn't comfortable with for fear that if she said no, she'd come across as a wet blanket and risk losing votes (and $10k) at the last second. That's why I don't get the whole live voting thing. Just keep it blind (at least from the actors) so that each puts in their best performance while, at the same time, isn't putting up with shit that they wouldn't otherwise tolerate. As an aside, I wonder if the contest-based fucking screws with these girls heads more than usual. I think we can all agree that many of the girls do a certain amount of mental gymnastics to convince themselves that they are in porn because they love sex, are doing it because they are a feminist or whatever. And yeah, everybody knows that girls in porn get paid for shoots. But with the live contest stuff, you're literally fucking for votes, which then translates to dollars (or no dollars if you don't win). Kind of boils the whole "be-a-whore-for-money" thing down to its purest, most visceral form. Gotta wonder if that takes a toll and if that had anything to do with August's early exit.

^I didn't see anything that bad happen. Keiran slapped her once but she's into that shit according to her Bra Busters scene where she begs Manuel to slap her. Other than that she just walks away at the end. Didn't see what set her off.
First, I would never make the assumption that just because a girl is up for a little bit of rough play in one instance, that it implies tacit, across-the-board consent for that same act until the end of time. That said, the statement that I made was that "there were a COUPLE of instances where THE GIRLS were clearly in pain either from being slapped or having a body thrown on top of them." That includes an instance where Toni Ribas inexplicably threw one girl on top of another and then dived on to the pile like he was Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka or something. It was unnecessary and over-the-top in my opinion.
^Ribas always acts like a complete moron, so no surprise there. I wish they would just annouce Eva as the contest winner and get it over with. At least then I could stop worrying about August being contracted to DP for a year.

Meh, I'm glad August lost. I don't want her stuck with only DP for a whole year. She might have even decided to retire after that year was up.
Once again, the contest is not over. Eva Lovia won the $10,000 prize for most votes during the Live Show. The DP Contract Winner is not announced for another two days.

Yeah...something has happened with the appearance at AVN's for August. One of my favorites since she came into the industry. So beautiful. But she did something before/during AVN's, and it looks pretty rough. Of course, Keisha Grey did something a few months ago and looked different unfortunately. But, it looks like she has gotten away from whatever injections/practices that caused a change in her appearance. Hopefully August will do the same.
^ Cutest Newcummer is basically a fan-favorite award. Granted it's partly about who works harder on social media, but August won a well-deserved award.
