That, in turn, led me to wonder how the girls of the Golden Age stack up all time in terms of number of cocks. Not surprisingly, I suppose, since over the years it has become so much easier and less expensive to produce and distribute porn, and since we don't have to go to seedy "bookstores" or theaters to watch it, the pioneers of porn generally worked with a fairly small number of partners. My starting point was a Wikipedia article on the Golden Age. In it was a list of significant performers of that era, divided into a first wave and a second wave. The first was described as the "porno chic" era, "between the late 1960s to early 70s, the second wave as "between the late 70s and early 80s." I'm not sure where the mid-70s land. The second wave ended with the introduction and mass adoption of video tape as a means of distribution. (I think the Supreme Court's Miller v. California decision in 1973 properly marks the start of the Golden Age and the modern porn era.) So I worked both lists. As I did so, I noticed some names that I was familiar with were missing, so I checked them. As I did so, I saw a few other names pop up that jogged some memories. The list is by no means complete, but I think it covers many names you'll recognize, a few you will have forgotten and maybe one or two you've never heard of (all assuming of course, that you have at least a passing familiarity with the era). I'm pretty sure I have the biggest names from the era; if you find a deserving name that I have left out, post it below. I have no firm criteria for the list, other than the Wikipedia lists or that she generally had to have been old enough to have worked with John Holmes or Seka, and, as I looked at film credits, she had to have a name I recognized or enough credits that I figured I needed to take a look at her. I don't have an answer to the question that started it all. I suspect it might be Sharon Mitchell, who IAFD says started in 1975. The other major candidate would be Sharon Kane, who debuted in 1977. A few of the names have significant totals in part because they worked through the transition from films to video. I'm inclined to at least note the following performers and their debut years, which would suggest that most of their bedpost notches came in the video era: Nina Hartley 1984 A revised top three might then be: Sharon Mitchell

So, I track women like Bambi, Linda Lovelace, and Traci Lords despite their fairly low numbers. I maintain start year and end year (per IAFD). I sorted my list by start date. Here are a few more on our # cocks list who started 1985 or before (start year) Bunny Bleu 115 (1983) And here a couple more who I think of as "famous," yet not on the # of cocks list, started before 1985.
